To think this is an odd thing for guy I'm seeing to say?

I have been dating a man I met online for 6 weeks, all going well, I really like him and from what he says and does he feels the same. But last night we had sex and were lying in bed talking and he had his arms round me and I looked at him and he said, 'I can just see the hormones being released in your brain'. I laughed and was like 'what?' And he said, 'women release hormones when they're falling in love and I can see it happening to you right now' Confused

AIBU to think this was a very odd thing to say?

Cocky dude. Tell him he might want to dial it down some.

0palescent · 08/09/2021 18:36

Wow. I wonder how many times he's used that line 🤢

ufucoffee · 08/09/2021 18:37

I'd just think it was a joke

PollyGray · 08/09/2021 18:37

He was on a fishing expedition.

Angryattrackandtrace · 08/09/2021 18:37

This made a bit of vomit come into the back of my mouth.

Ick

TurquoiseDragon · 08/09/2021 18:38

I'd agree it's very cocky. An arrogant assumption that of course he's good enough that you have to fall in love with him.

Carry on if you like him, just be wary of other arrogant behaviour.

How old is he? It's sounds like he's quite young.

Dillydollydingdong · 08/09/2021 18:39

Cheeky got, assuming much.

Dillydollydingdong · 08/09/2021 18:40

Git, not got.

FawnDrench · 08/09/2021 18:41

He sounds delightful - a real catch...
What a wanky, smug, self-satisfied arsehole...

trevthecat · 08/09/2021 18:43

🤢

Alconleigh · 08/09/2021 18:44

Yeah I'd have dried up like the Sahara after that comment. Genuinely dreadful.

ProudAlly · 08/09/2021 18:52

That would really put me off. I'd have told him to leave

Garriet · 08/09/2021 18:55

Oh nooooooooooooooo 🤢

Aquamarine1029 · 08/09/2021 18:56

Smug prat.

2et2font5 · 08/09/2021 19:01

Ewww. That is both odd and conceited. What did you say? Goodbye?

Dinosauraddict · 08/09/2021 19:03

Everyone's assuming he was being cocky (and he could've been) but equally he could've been worried that you weren't both on the same page perhaps about how casual (or not) the relationship is?

Wavypurple · 08/09/2021 19:03

I physically cringed reading that. So weird.

sueelleker · 08/09/2021 19:04

@Janaih

Being very generous I would say men say ridiculous bullshit after sex. The fact that you started a thread about it makes me think this is not an isolated incident of twattery. Tell us more please OP!

@takemetoyourhouse

I am not being dramatic or lying at all but my face went hot reading that, what did you do after he said that ?

penguinwithasuitcase · 08/09/2021 19:09

@Namechangedforthreadbackafter yours DOESN'T have a zipper?

I'd get that checked, if I were you...

TheLovelinessOfDemons · 08/09/2021 19:09

"Ugh, no, I'm really not."

whatwasIgoingtosay · 08/09/2021 19:09

We need a new thread entitled Ridiculous Things Men Say After Sex. Smile

flibberyjibbery8 · 08/09/2021 19:09

I'd say this is a red flag, I've met a few of this kind of guy who would say this sort of thing and they were all creepy as.
