Dp and ds have both been trained by me to sit down and wipe. It's far more civilised...... I may well be a slattern but pissy floors are not a feature in my house.

Corcory · 07/09/2021 23:48

My MIL didn't know that boys stood up to go for a pee - she had 4 sons!

You needed to train to your DP on how to use a toilet wow . My partner stands to pee and I don’t have pissy floors.
SpamThief · 07/09/2021 23:51

Imagine toilet training your husband.

So weird.

Bargebill19 · 07/09/2021 23:51

Some men don’t - they use the urinals which don’t have paper. Some men do and they would use the toilets which have paper. But again some men use the toilets to pee and don’t use paper.
Mind you, some men use the toilets to oee and miss the he bowl completely, spraying the cubicle walls and floor instead. Some use paper to wipe or dab and manage to completely miss the toilet bowl to dispose of it. Then there is a subsection that mange to get their used toilet paper in the bowl, but can’t find the flush. 🤢

It’s funny that I never had to train a grown man on how not to piss all over the floor. He was capable of doing it himself . Her husband must be a right catch .
EmeraldShamrock · 07/09/2021 23:54

My partner doesn't he shakes.
It is too late to change him.
DS wipes every time.

Lottsxx · 07/09/2021 23:55

I’ve never actually thought about this EVER haha

HonorHiding · 08/09/2021 00:02

@winewolfhowls

Blown away by the shed load! I always thought it meant lots of something because sheds were places where you store a large amount of stuff.
The Oxford dictionary (online) suggests ‘shedload’ is neither of those, but “perhaps euphemistic after shitload”.

A shed load, on the other hand (two words) is a load which has been shed.

No wonder everyone was stockpiling loo roll. I'm sure the amount of willie wipers here does not reflect the real world at all.

Abhannmor · 08/09/2021 00:17

I always wipe after a wee. If I can that is. And I hate urinals.

starfishmummy · 08/09/2021 00:24

@GeorgiaGirl52

The men in my family do use it. However they do not know how to replace it and will inform me "There's no tp in the bathroom" rather than reaching in the cabinet above the toilet and getting a new roll.
Mine can replace it, but think the correct thing to do with the empty roll is to drop it on the floor.

Except it won't quite be empty. There's usually enough left on the roll for a dab, and sometimes even more.

starfishmummy · 08/09/2021 00:35

@Shadedog

Oh! That’s LOADS.

Sort of the same amount as a lorry load still on the lorry though. Language is hilarious

Doesn't that depend on the size of the lorrry? After all when the phrase was coined lorries were probably smaller than they are now.
ShepherdessBoink · 08/09/2021 00:38

My DH says he wipes and avoids urinals outside.

LuluJakey1 · 08/09/2021 00:53

Loo roll used by DH here. Shaking is where all the splashes come from- that and poor aim.

CrumpetyTea · 08/09/2021 01:26

I remember DP having to teach DS not to wipe when he was first learning toilet etiquette. DS really wanted to wipe/dab but DP said he'd be teased/look odd if he was in public doing this.I do wish DS wiped at home though as we do seem to get drips.
Also a friend of a friend decided to explain how he stood by the toilet to ensure a good aim- apparently you make sure your knee i touching the bowl
(outside)- i'd never heard this, DP didn't agree- i think it depends on your height relative to the bowl. Also i can't imagine deliberately making contact with any part of a public toilet if you didn't need to

Yuk My husband always does. Prevents clothes smelling of stale wee.
Do you also get him to sit down to empty his bladder?
SneakyCucumberAction · 08/09/2021 01:35

@alexdgr8

all the menfolk in my family do use paper for number ones. it;s how they are brought up. cleanliness is next to godliness. also it is not necessary for men to stand over the loo to pass water, which can be messy. many men sit down. many mothers demand this.
Mothers DEMAND it. Do they really. 🙄

Not good relationship when you hear that one partner is treated like a dog. But apparently it's more 'civilised' that way.

You do know that you do not actually violently shake it? You run your thumb and index finger placed top to bottom on the shaft at the pelvic bone then squeeze those digits as you run along the shaft to the tip to expel any remaining droplets. Zero shaking involved.
ILoveANameChange · 08/09/2021 01:55

My DH didn't wipe when we first met. I put a stop to that pretty quickly. Its disgusting
