The physics of how they moved etc

Huh? The physics of how they moved is the sane physics that allows other animals to move. Are you thinking all dinosaurs were the size of skyscrapers or something? Same physics would still apply even if they were though...

Acqua32 · 24/08/2021 16:14

@lazylinguist

There’s a reason why they don’t let you touch the Dino bones in the museum. Because if we did touch them they know we will realise they’re fake... think about it... papier mache bones.

Wow yeah, it's really obvious when you put it like that! Because they let you go and play with all the other museum exhibits, juggle with the Roman vases etc! Oh hang on... Grin

Like I said, do not argue with the flaws in my theory.

But in response to that... two words re Roman vases...
@Acqua32. That's no proof they didn't exist though. If you had a print of the Mona Lisa on your wall would you not believe it was ever a real painting?
I wouldn’t have a print of the Mona Lisa on my wall.

I would have the real papier mache version of it. Grin

It is weird to think that back in Dino times that loads of creatures were really big - snakes, dragonflies, millipedes, ferns, etc.

Who’s to say it won’t go the other way in the future?

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 24/08/2021 16:20

@BeauxRingarde

Dinosaurs didn't actually exist

You've never seen a bird? Birds are extant dinosaurs.

That's correct, we often see the Robinasurus, Stegapies and the Great Titaraptor in our garden. At night we hear, rather than see, the Tawnydactyl.
Unsuremover · 24/08/2021 16:21

@noblegreenk ah I wish you hadn’t posted that. I typed mine and deleted cause it’s mental and I hate it. I can tell when someone is dying if I know them. People that are ill, I know when to worry or not. My aunts had cancer, was horrible and scary but when my friend had cancer I knew they’d die. It happens when people don’t know they are ill as well. Something changes in their face. My mums always looking at me when we visit elderly relatives, as if I want to be the bloody omen of death.

What I don’t want to do is find out if I see it but then they have lots of treatment and it changes. It’s not woo, I think it’s the animal part of my brain reading subtle clues.

MaryBoBary · 24/08/2021 16:28

@TwoLeftSocksWithHoles Great Titoraptor has really made me laugh Grin

Acqua32 · 24/08/2021 16:29

@TwoLeftSocksWithHoles are those Dino birds in papier mache form?

Coronado2 · 24/08/2021 16:40

I also believe in mulitverses. I think at each decision I've made in my life a new multiverse has formed where one of me made one choice, one made the other. It makes me feel good to think there's a version of me out there doing all the things I chose not to. Sometimes I think the multiverses come quite close together, like I have a weird feeling and I think another version of me just fell over or something. It's weird.

headintheproverbial · 24/08/2021 16:52

I don't really believe in physics.

BeauxRingarde · 24/08/2021 17:04

@headintheproverbial

I don't really believe in physics.
In what sense do you not believe in physics? Physics aren't something you need to believe in. Physics isn't a religion.
headintheproverbial · 24/08/2021 17:08

@BeauxRingarde I refer you to the title 'your most insane belief'. I'm not saying it's rational.

But for example with Astro physics I just don't think it's possible for scientists to 'know' some of the stuff they say they know such as how the Big Bang happened or dark matter or whatever.

SirenSays · 24/08/2021 17:16

It's funny, I was told by my English teacher in secondary school that the moon landing was fake because we never managed to get back up there even with better technology.
Then a science teacher told us that he shouldn't be saying it, but climate change was a complete hoax designed to control us and the way we spend our money. I wonder if they're posting on this thread 🤔

Somethingsnappy · 24/08/2021 17:16

@Phyllis321

I say ‘Good morning captain, where’s your wife?’ whilst saluting to lone magpies.
What about his children?? 'How/where's your wife and children', surely?
thankslove · 24/08/2021 17:22

😂

Somethingsnappy · 24/08/2021 17:24

Why are posters suddenly pointing out to other posters how insane their beliefs are and why? They already know... Clue is in the title. That's why they're here Grin

icedcoffees · 24/08/2021 17:29

@headintheproverbial

I don't really believe in physics.
Is your name Phoebe Buffay?
MistressoftheDarkSide · 24/08/2021 17:41

Another Magpie Saluter here 😁 ...... I also knock on wood and ascribe to the rule of three when bad stuff happens...... obviously as a Capricorn I know it's all insane though..... Wink

I am firmly convinced that some of my consistently bad luck is because I was born on a Wednesday though..... you know, "Wednesday's child is full of woe....."

There is absolutely no other rational explanation at this point in my life Confused

nancybotwinbloom · 24/08/2021 17:41

@MrsToothyBitch @Thewiseoneincognito

I am the same. It's like I need something to worry about I hate it!

doorornottodoor · 24/08/2021 18:05

Loving this thread! Apart from the weirdos that are pointing out that the beliefs are in fact insane, did they not read the title ? 😁

JustJustWhy · 24/08/2021 19:04

@Myfanwyprice

I’ve got this strong belief that when we die, we will find out all of life’s mysteries, rationally I know it isn’t possible, but I can’t help myself. So if we’re discussing who Jack the Ripper was or what it was like to live during Tudor times, there’s always part of me that thinks don’t worry, you’ll know when you die!
OMG, this!

I firmly believe this too and even have questions, from the banal to the more xxx stacked up.

What really happened with regards to the disappearances of MMc and to Suzie Lamplugh? How did coronavirus originate? Did the dogs I've loved the most also have emotional feelings? Who stole a certain thing from me at work? Was Diana's car crash simply a result of being chased by paparazzi? Name one secret that each person I know had that I never knew while we were alive. Is anyone really psychic?

....having said that I love this theory, I'm hoping that when you're dead, you're dead. Who wants to live forever?

Frankola · 24/08/2021 19:26

I believe in fate to an extent. I believe we have a pretty set path, but we can influence or change it by our actions.

I also believe that many of us have had previous lives. I don't even know why I just do!

MissConductUS · 24/08/2021 20:00

I've never seen one myself, but I firmly believe that UFO's exist and that some are extraterrestrial in origin. I also think that they may be fully robotic and not have any living aliens on board.

Take a look at the UFO subreddit sometime.

In an good humour, this made me laugh because it reminded me of the Tim Minchin lyrics:

"So I resist the urge to ask Storm
Whether knowledge is so loose-weave of a morning when
Deciding whether to leave her apartment by the front door
Or the window on her second floor."
