Does anyone feel like they've done this (life) before? I often get the feeling that this is my first go and I'm doing it all wrong and making decisions for the very first time and do a lot of asking the universe/God for guidance.

PurpleSproutingSomething · 24/08/2021 21:18

This one will sound a bit weird, but I have this belief that a folded piece of paper will weigh more than a flat piece of paper. That the folds altogether will weigh it down more.

I have weighed the paper, folded and not and they weigh the same but my brain will not believe it.

LostThings · 24/08/2021 22:32

Ghosts. Based on a relative's experience.

Thewiseoneincognito · 24/08/2021 22:35

@LemonJuiceFromConcentrate

Our magpie script (via xdp’s gran) is “Good morning, Mr Magpie, what a fine fellow you are” accompanied by a salute (which I try to do subtly so as not to look overly bonkers)
😆🤣😂
Needsleep32 · 24/08/2021 22:45

I think I’m a little bit psychic, but in a totally useless way. For example, someone will pop into my head that I haven’t seen in years (for no reason at all), then I’ll bump into them the next day.

LostThings · 24/08/2021 23:00

Ooh, I've done that @Needsleep32 . I've had a dream about someone I haven't seen since school, then bumped into them the next day.

jobsagudden · 24/08/2021 23:10

'Morning Mr. Magpie? How's your wife?'

BulbasaurusRex · 24/08/2021 23:15

A family friend had cancer and I knew things didn’t look good but I also had no clue about how long she had left. Then one night I had a very vivid dream about her. We were walking arm in arm and she was making jokes as she always did, but she seemed sad too. Then we said goodbye and I gave her a kiss and said I loved her. It was so vivid I was quite upset in the morning and told my husband. It was the day after that when my mum phoned me to tell me our friend had died. I believe she came to say goodbye to me because I hadn’t seen her for years - although my sceptical brain thinks there must have been people higher up the list that she would want to see and how can we possibly visit each other in dreams?

I also once had a very strange dream about a friend holding a hedgehog. Very odd I thought. Then the next day she sent a message saying she’d spent the night on a hedgehog count in a park!

BulbasaurusRex · 24/08/2021 23:17

I also believe we get to live our lives over and over and that when we die we have an ‘ah hah!’ moment where we learn absolutely everything. But I also believe we’re all part of one ‘life’ experiencing itself so that’s why...

SpaceBethSmith · 24/08/2021 23:20

A multiverse believer here too.

People gawk and sat “But you’re a scientist?!”

I’m a Microbiologist not a fucking Physicist Grin

Tunnocks34 · 24/08/2021 23:56

I believe in reincarnation, or rather I believe that the energy which form what we think of as our souls, become transformed when we die.

I’m not sure I like this idea though - my fear is if this is real, what if my next life is awful? I think I’d rather just be gone!

Ninkanink · 25/08/2021 00:04

I really like that idea.

Lol.

I'm going to see Constellations next week. The multiverse relationship play. Cannot wait.

Coronado2 · 25/08/2021 08:51

I do also believe in reincarnation and soul mates bit not soul mates as in one person meant for you, but soul mates as in people you will meet in every life. In one life they might be your partner or child, in the next just a friend for a few years or something. I've had a few people who I've felt an instant I know you connection with who I think are mine. But I also think I believe there is an end, like when you've learnt everything you need to you stop being reincarnated. I don't know if I believe there's a heaven then or not though.

NuttySlacker · 25/08/2021 09:10

@WomanStanleyWoman

I sometimes catch myself thinking about how I’ll do something differently ‘next time around’ - as in when my life resets and starts again. It’s bizarre, as I know perfectly well that we only live once, but somewhere deep down, a tiny part of me hasn’t accepted it and thinks I’ll get to do this all again.
This totally resonates with me. I think this too. I find myself half aware, thinking, 'next time I think it'd be good to study something different any uni' or '...have a family early and just enjoy being a mum when I am young'.

Oh, and I also believe you can ask wasps to leave the building. When they fly in, if you ask them nicely they will leave ("Mr Wasp, you don't want to be in here, kindly take yourself back out to the garden and enjoy the sun").

@ssd

I know for a fact karma doesn't exist
Can you explain why? Really interested Smile

Isn't it obvious?

ActonSquirrel · 25/08/2021 10:31

Karma means action. The west has twisted it to mean what goes around comes around and it doesn't mean that.

Hence Karma as the west interprets it doesn't actually exist.

I love this thread. I get songs which I haven’t heard for a long time stuck in my head. They will go round and round in my mind intermittently and then maybe a week or two later I will hear the song in a random place such as a shop/pub/TV when something significant has just happened or is about to happen to me. It’s not always a major life changing event but it’s something that matters at the time.
Also agree with the posters who mentioned that bad things happen to people who do me wrong. I would never ever deliberately ill wish anyone and have also had numerous situations where not very nice people have found themselves having to move out of my life due to circumstances beyond their control.

That's strange - in my experience, most people with religious/spiritual beliefs either believe because those beliefs appeal to them or because they've had the beliefs drummed into them froman early age. It seems odd to voluntarily believe something you don't actually like the idea of!

Aisforharlot · 25/08/2021 16:18

That fractals are the base unit of consciousness.

LostThings · 25/08/2021 17:03

That there might really be a Hell. Obviously I hope there isn't as it's too horrible to really think about, especially as I might be going there myself. But I went to a Catholic school so it's a belief I had drummed into me.

Margerine78 · 25/08/2021 17:37

@IsThisAkissingBook

I actually think I may have powers. BlushConfused Anytime someone has done me wrong like quite badly I've wished bad on them and it's happened. Pretty serious things too yes it may be a coincidence but these things relate to either what they did to me. Or what I've wished on them. I wouldn't dare mention this in rl but I just needed to say it.
Can you share this power with me please? My sister has been a total dick to me all my life !
