That 9/11 was partly an inside job. I know , I know … that is where my conspiracy theories end though!

CherryHug · 24/08/2021 10:57

@Bellend101

That if you eat two bananas in a row then spin around, you die. I heard it once and I know it sounds fucking ridiculous but I am way too scared to prove the "theory" wrong.
Fairly sure my 3 year old has disproved that numerous times.
vampirethriller · 24/08/2021 11:42

I used to see a little white dog out of the corner of my eye in every house I lived in (we never had one)
Then someone I knew through friends was getting rid of their dog because they didn't want her any more, so I said I'd have her. I didn't know what kind of dog or what colour. She's a little white terrier and I've never seen the not-there dog since she came. I think we were meant to be with each other. I don't care what anyone else thinks about thatGrin

That the moon grew and shrunk to change shape!

PartridgeFeather · 24/08/2021 11:52

That my youngest child is my deceased mother, reincarnated.

ssd · 24/08/2021 12:01

Actually just realised my most insane belief.
I believe when i got somewhere different, like on holidays somewhere, that people all have perfect lives, and dont have the worries or anxieties a lot of us have...they never get ill or need scary treatments or worry about tests etc.
I have health anxiety and imagine im the only person on earth who worries to the extent i do.

ssd · 24/08/2021 12:01

When i go, not got

ssd · 24/08/2021 12:02

@PartridgeFeather

That my youngest child is my deceased mother, reincarnated.
I believe that about my youngest and my dad
Ninkanink · 24/08/2021 12:03

I grew up being taught insane beliefs so I stay well away now.

But I do sometimes wish there were ghosts and a whole layer (or raft of layers) of life beyond ours. There’s something very pleasing about the idea.

MydogWillow · 24/08/2021 12:15

@MistyGreenAndBlue

I believe that some houses make me ill I don't mean from a physical cause like damp or mould or asbestos etc. I mean the energy of the house is destructive to me I lived in one place 13 years and that's where I first got ill - progressively more so over the years. I got better the very day I moved out. It's now happening again. Only this time it's a more serious illness. The original illness never came back. In both houses I was/am essentially trapped by circumstance and unable to just leave. Other aspects of my situation are also unnervingly similar to before

I guess I need to find a way to move out. 🤷‍♀️

You could try a house cleanse?
StormOfSekhmet · 24/08/2021 12:36

Another one, I met my Son before I was even pregnant, I had several dreams about him, I saw him so clearly. He looks exactly like he did on my dream. I even felt the energy of his soul near me, just before I found out I was pregnant. It was a beautiful, golden energy.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 24/08/2021 12:39

I believe that, when dh upsets me in my dreams, the real dh should apologise for his dream-counterpart's actions. Dh does not agree, and thinks I am crackers. I'm sure he is right. Grin

MydogWillow · 24/08/2021 12:40

When I was little I thought poo was stored in your bum cheeks....

Notimeforaname · 24/08/2021 13:07

That the powers that be will ALWAYS make me look and feel as hideous as possible just before I go on holiday. Every single time. No exceptions.

Its usually conjunctivitis,flu,massive cold sores,or a very irregular period.

This time its 7 giant red and purple insect bites on my legs which now have bruise halo's forming around each one. I'm heading off in 4 days. Thank you world Grin

PrawnofthePatriarchy · 24/08/2021 13:26

I think that if I kill a spider its relatives might gang up on me when I'm asleep.

veganmayo · 24/08/2021 13:35

Like PPs I also have a habit of anthropomorphising inanimate objects (a lonely teaspoon in the drawer has made me well up, at particularly hormonal moments).

I also get the instant karma thing, where minor inconveniences happen to me right after I've done something slightly inconsiderate or thought something not-very-nice. Like if I have a mean thought about someone I will trip up straight away or get indigestion or something. This happens to me on a regular basis - it's a good incentive to be better Grin

Notthemessiah · 24/08/2021 13:45

@WomanStanleyWoman

I sometimes catch myself thinking about how I’ll do something differently ‘next time around’ - as in when my life resets and starts again. It’s bizarre, as I know perfectly well that we only live once, but somewhere deep down, a tiny part of me hasn’t accepted it and thinks I’ll get to do this all again.
I'm glad to see that this isn't just me. I find myself doing this and then immediately feeling sad and stupid when I realise it's not actually going to happen and that I will never get that chance to correct things, do things differently or choose a different path for my life.

I always assumed it was because I've played computer games for such a large part of my life that the thought of having another go had just embedded itself somehow.

GoldenHours · 24/08/2021 14:04

That time is not real and that everything is happening at once simultaneously. I feel like there is just this paper-thin veil between different times. Whenever I'm anywhere historic like an old castle or old cobbled streets I feel like it wouldn't take much for me to capture a glimpse of those times, just a little blip or slip and we'll see each other.

BeauxRingarde · 24/08/2021 14:42

That's a reputable and widely known scientific theory.

SirenSays · 24/08/2021 14:49

Growing up my sisters and I were terrified of spiders, so to stop us killing them mum used to say that when you kill one, three more show up for its funeral. Even now I hate finding spiders in the house because I just know that, even if DH gently moves it outside, I'll see three more in quick succession. Logically, I know it's because I'm hyperaware and looking out for them and relax after finding the third but it still freaks me out.

icedcoffees · 24/08/2021 14:49

I definitely believe that aliens have visited this planet (and that they're probably far more advanced and intelligent than us).

AllTheSunshine · 24/08/2021 14:49

That men are attracted to post menopausal women they've just met.Sad

BillMasen · 24/08/2021 14:53

@TSSDNCOP

Just as I have a feeling of "life is good" it totally goes to shit within 24 hours.
This. I find myself avoiding thinking “it’s all going well” as I know that’ll trigger something shit to happen.

This is why Blink is my favourite Dr Who episode. I never tire of watching it
