Not me, but a 'friend' believes in reincarnation, and that you keep coming back to this earth until all your bad deeds have been cancelled out with good and when you have a nil balance you are done. She thinks she's on her last incarnation. I reckon she has a fair few more goes round yet.

@DismantlesKing
No thats right. They do return things if you ask nicely. As long as there is peace in your house. Theybonly take things if there is unrest. I have two families of little people in my house. All very lovely. Sometimes I catxh sight of they late at night.

Bard6817 · 25/08/2021 17:47

Karma…. I’ve always tried to be a good person, and had good things happen to me, despite the best attempts of the wrong ins in life.

Conversley, the wrong un’s just seem to have whatever they give to others piled back on themselves.

CauliflowerBalti · 25/08/2021 17:49

Unicorns once existed. I don’t believe they do now - but horned horses appear in cave art, rhinos exist and they are on the same taxonomy branch as horses, the horn would be made of hair so no bones would remain as evidence.

I believe unicorns existed.

They couldn’t fly though. That’s Pegasuses. Only fools and children believe in those… ;-)

“When a man stops believing in God,” said GK Chesterton, “he doesn't then believe in nothing, he believes anything.” In my lifetime church attendance has plummeted. When I was a child in the 60s most people went to church. Now they are closing all over the country. I don't attend church, although I did when I was younger. My religion is Apathism, I was going to set up a website for our followers, but I couldn't be bothered. Now, some people believe in all sorts of illogical stuff, from Homepathy, to healing crystals to ghosts. It is very worrying.

notoldjustpastyoung · 25/08/2021 18:01

Awful reviews on a Book like Midnight Library I imagine are by people who have not got an open mind to possibilities. You have to clear your mind when your reading, so it can think about what it is about.
It's far deeper than someone just going back in time. Matt Haigh is brilliant. I have all his books and recommend all of them except one.

TheRebelle · 25/08/2021 18:02

I do t believe that the council recycle anything (I still put everything in the right bins before anyone freaks out!) I just think they sort it all out into neat piles in warehouses.

twilightermummy · 25/08/2021 18:07

I’m psychic. I’m beginning to wonder if my life is one whole state of deja vu! My capabilities have definitely grown as I’ve got older. It scares me sometimes.

Fluffmum · 25/08/2021 18:13

I love holly oaks . I also love spongebob

There is a lot of truth in this.
Bebethany · 25/08/2021 18:21

Can’t stand HO but would go to the end of the earth for EE!

Bertiebiscuit · 25/08/2021 18:22

That if I worry about a future problem enough it won't happen

Bebethany · 25/08/2021 18:24

IsThisAkissingBook Two wrongs rarely make a right, do watch your own back as well as watching others back!

Bluetrews25 · 25/08/2021 18:29

@MeaderingGently did you have to sing this at school like I did?
Maybe it had An Effect on you?

I've only put on the first two verses of 'My Grandfather's Clock'

My grandfather's clock was too large for the shelf
So it stood ninety years on the floor
It was taller by half than the old man himself
Though it weighed not a pennyweight more
It was bought on the morn of the day that he was born
And was always his treasure and pride
But it stopped, short never to go again
When the old man died

JustKeepSwiming · 25/08/2021 18:32

A pigeon coming to your window is a message of bad news for someone in the household.

Georgyporky · 25/08/2021 18:35

There's a bloke in the chip shop who thinks he is Elvis.
I believe him.

nyoman · 25/08/2021 18:38

I would like to know why @TheCuttySharp 's post was deleted @MNHQ?
This is a thread for insane beliefs after all.

nyoman · 25/08/2021 18:40

My own insane belief is that photographs steal part of your soul, that's why I never have mine taken.

StellaMalone · 25/08/2021 18:53

Unless you think that’s the most realistic possibility

Jemzy30 · 25/08/2021 18:58

@TSSDNCOP

Just as I have a feeling of "life is good" it totally goes to shit within 24 hours.
Omg Me too! As soon As I think it, then things start going wrong!
OverweightPidgeon · 25/08/2021 18:59

I believe that if I stretch my legs out in front of me with nothing supporting them underneath then my legs will bend the wrong way and my feet will hit me in the face .

Treesandsheepeverywhere · 25/08/2021 19:33

Not me but my ex beloved he had marriage powers. Everyone he dated, married the person they dated after him. When he said it I thought it was a way of dumping me kindly, turns out he was right. Weird as he was a troubled but gentle soul who belive in a bit of woo. Hope he finds his bride one day.

Treesandsheepeverywhere · 25/08/2021 19:38

@AmazinglyGraceless

I think I'm possibly bordering psychic in regards to films.

I can watch any film and 19/20 times can call the exact ending within the first five to ten minutes, even when it's turned out to be a ridiculously unlikely twist.

I'm rarely wrong and I don't know how I know, I just do. Dh has banned me from commenting on any film we watch in case I give the ending away 😂

Doesn't work with series's though, just films 🤔

I do this too, also with theatre shows and the Parot films. I can also guess what the characters are going to say or do next, not obvious stuff either.
FoodieLexie · 25/08/2021 19:42

Good people really do die young. Depressing, but true….

ItsOverFlo · 25/08/2021 19:43

@LeonieSims

I believe I saw the future a child. I passed out and had a dream. When I woke up (apparently I was only out for a few seconds), the exact thing I'd dreamed happened. It felt very weird. Around the same time, I also had two or three night dreams that also happened in real life either the next day or a week from then.
@LeonieSims I had this as a child too! Then it sort of stopped happening as I became a teenager. Wiered as I was only talking about it yesterday, but hadn't thought about in years...
