Let me explain. I need a new measuring jug. The measures have been washed off my glass ones and my plastic one is not easy to read. They're cheap yet I have been struggling for about 2 years and never really sure I've measured correctly meaning some failed bread and the odd annoyance most days. Why haven't o bought one? I fear it's symptomatic of other flaws
Tell me yours and make me feel less of a weirdo

@lifehappened

Razor heads. Not exactly cheap but I'll use them til blunt as hell through laziness and the fact it's plain wrong how much the Venus ones cost!
You can buy a cheap double edged razor for less than a tenner from Amazon and then a hundred blades for even less than that. Plastic free too.

I've gradually replace baking tins for stainless steel and I've got some ridiculously cheap roasting tins from Ikea (now I have both sizes) that I use for everything from cakes (a la traybake), bread rolls, pies, to roasties. A roll of silicon baking sheet is enough to line all of them. My adult kids aren't allowed to use them - they have Pyrex baking sheets for their frozen stuff which are super easy to clean.

My people!

Today I'm going to buy -
Batteries
Pegs
New Big seive
Multi purpose cloths for stuff like mopping up spills, cleaning the car etc(I'm on the last of the Terry cloth nappies, my ds is about to turn 18)
A tape measure

A new roll of baking paper as I just can't bin the baking trays...

Bibliophile001 · 24/08/2021 09:22

Hi - the Flash mop isn’t that great. The floor often feels tacky afterwards and it doesn’t pick up crumbs, so you have to sweep afterwards.
Not worth the money IMO.
Best wishes, Rosie

DynamoKev · 24/08/2021 09:24

Toilet rolls

Arrowheart · 24/08/2021 09:34

Mine are...

A dust pan and brush
A peg bag
A new mascara

All because I'm quite used to these every day things now and even though they are on their last legs I'm worried that the replacements won't be as good 😃

Wexone · 24/08/2021 09:51

@PinkyAndALurkyPerky and @Puffinhead please stop pumping your mascara, its the worst thing you can do. It introduces air in to the tube creating bacteria and can cause eye infections . Try twisting it out of the tube in stead or roll it out.

rosegoldwatcher · 24/08/2021 09:58

I've done it!
Foot scrubber (but not the one that was in my Wish List) ordered and due to be delivered before 10pm today.

Now I need to order that O'Keeffe's foot cream!

Couchbettato · 24/08/2021 09:58

@aworldofourown

A land yard! I only just ordered one a few weeks ago, it took me 10 years!!!!!!! No kidding!! It's only a couple of quid. Was just one of those things I put off, I'd add to basket and forget to checkout or think I'll do it later. I told everyone about the land yard after it arrived, only took 10 years
Is this another Chester Draws situation?
longtompot · 24/08/2021 10:59

@Cynderella do you have a link for the razor and blades?

NotMyCat · 24/08/2021 11:39

I get razor blades on subscription from FFS shaving. Solved that issue Grin

Mascara - essence lash princess is a good cheap one, definitely don't pump it, if you are desperate then stand it in a mug of warm water BUT BUY A NEW ONE!

Malacath · 24/08/2021 12:25

To those that recommend the Vileda spray mop, would you recommend the 1-2 Spray or the Spray Max version? I'm very tempted but can't decide which one would be best!

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 24/08/2021 12:34

@QuestionableMouse. Done, it comes tomorrow. Thank you for that kick up the bum 😍

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 24/08/2021 12:34

That should have been 🤣 not 😍

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 24/08/2021 12:36

@Kevinbrady

A bin for the kitchen! I use a carrier bag on the door handle
Me too! Then I got a bin and the fucker burst at the bottom, but I just can't bring myself to buy an expensive one!
QuestionableMouse · 24/08/2021 12:37

Yay good for you! 😁

BRDouble · 24/08/2021 17:37

@ComtesseDeSpair 😂😂🙌🙌

CherryRipe1 · 24/08/2021 17:38

A She-wee or similar. Too stingry to justify the erm "expense" a petrified it will be a disaster.

CherryRipe1 · 24/08/2021 17:39

Stingy not stingry!

SpittinKitten · 24/08/2021 17:39

Butter dish.

Meraas · 24/08/2021 17:42

@SpittinKitten

Butter dish.
Ha, I have pale yellow butter dish from Le Creuset (a bargain from TK Maxx) that I can’t bring myself to start using so it stays wrapped up and we use nothing.
Lincslady53 · 24/08/2021 17:44

Get a whizzy mop. Don't know what they are really called, but they come with a bucket with a spinning bit. Put mop into bucket, then in spinning bit, pump the footpedal a couple of times till the mop is nearly dry. Brilliant.

Ratonastick · 24/08/2021 17:50

I need a new yard broom. I moved into this house 5 years ago and brought the disgusting, rusty, half bald one with me. They are less than a tenner but every time I see one in B&Q I think “naaah, I’ll get it next time”. During the time I have been thinking this I have bought 2 different mops, a steam mop, a fancy battery powered whirly floor mopper, a rubber broom, a feather cobweb thing, a stiff dome shaped cobweb thing and a special thing for cleaning bathroom tiles. I am not normally deficient in devices for surface cleaning but a yard broom seems to defeat me,

listsandbudgets · 24/08/2021 17:52

A kitchen roll holder.. I lost mine in a house move so the roll has been standing on top of the breadbin for ummmm 5 years

I am going to go online right now and order one... or maybe not Grin

BlueMarigold · 24/08/2021 18:05

Oven gloves. Mine are worn out and I need a new pair. But I keep forgetting and when I do see some in the shop they don’t seem quite right.
