I've seen this appalling ad a few times

Two young children dangling upside down by their knees, eating cheese in the hope that if they eat it upside down it will feed their brains

It took me a while to catch what it was actually advertising, but now I know, I am making a formal complaint

I cant believe how utterly stupid and irresponsible this is an as example to junior school aged children

Given this is what she has written on her marathon thread, I think this one might stay.

@00100001
Put that Dairylea down right now!!
We don’t want another visit to A&E, you’ve already collected all the teddies (if you have a clumsy PFB you will know what this means)

Hopeisnotastrategy · 24/08/2021 19:05

Haven't read the whole thread but I was more worried about them falling and breaking their necks. Similar to you just shouldn't cut someone's seat belt if they are hanging upside down in the car after an accident. I am no expert but I agree, I think it's a foolish advert.

Ohh thank you I missed that one! I think you're right!
There's threads everywhere by OP, wonder what the next one will be!?

Chikapu · 24/08/2021 19:09

Just read that the OP will be taking Jelly Babies when she runs the marathon, won't that be a choking hazard?

lyntheyresexpeople · 24/08/2021 19:14

Op really has been busy!
Last week she saved the life of a choking baby on a train. That was when she wasn't hosting hundreds of refugees out her gaf, running marathons she was a trained runner for even though she'd never ran, was desperate to look older than 20 at 50 years old, and works as a mental health specialist. As well as A&E, obviously. And being a biologist.
What a woman

Chikapu · 24/08/2021 19:50

Smoke her a kipper she'll be back for breakfast.

ChateauxNeufDePoop · 24/08/2021 21:32

It's fine, she doesn't run upside down

And me!

Onehotmess · 25/08/2021 00:26

I really wish I could get AS to work on my phone 🙈
The only time either of my children have choked (in 10 years) was my daughter in a high chair on a bit of jacket potato skin.
Next time I see an advert for IKEA I’ll be putting a complaint in.

Lweji · 25/08/2021 08:31

Maybe OP will ask for it to be pulled now a few people are beginning to see the inconsistencies in their posts....

MNHQ might pull out more than this thread... Hmm

14 complaints. to take an advert down. The worlds gone soft.

In the 90s I remember reading something by Chris Morris (I think) explaining why broadcasters took no notice of a few hundred complaints against programmes, including his. The point was, if a thousand people complain, that means the other couple of million viewers weren't particularly upset. It would be madness to dictate what could and couldn't be broadcast based on the opinions of such a small share of the audience.

I guess times have changed, nobody should ever be offended by anything, and certainly nobody should be expected to think for themself.
