How the fuck do I deal with this

I've NC for obvious reasons. Just picked up my 17yr old dd from a 'friend's' house where she stayed last night. She's in a right state. She hasn't known this girl long and I don't know her at all but they have other mutual friends and she's gone back to her flat before after nights out.
So dd is crying and has been stabbed repeatedly with a tattoo gun in the leg. It's bruised and swollen and there was apparently alot of blood. Obvious needle mark. I've bathed it and it looks OK but I'm worried about infection. The fucking needle won't have been sterilised either.
I wanted to call the police there and then but dd has begged me not to as no-one does that and it'll have repercussions .
This girl is 18 and obviously dd is still a child. Any advice?

Thank you all. We spent 3hrs at hospital and they asked who else has used the needle which of course dd doesn't know. She unblocked the girl and called her and text but no reply.
Bloods have been taken but I'm not really sure why tbh. They've just said they are kept in case they show anything later?
The doctor asked if she thought the needle had been used by drug users and she said no. She's had a hep b injection. And I've given her a talk about drinking so much and being involved with people like this. Truth is she's had a really stressful time at work this week and she's ended up getting really pissed. Then gone back to this girls flat where she's been before and previously everything been ok. I hope to god this hits home the risk she's taken and how you can't trust others totally. I aren't going to involve the police as I do not want to make it worse for her and she's ok at the end of the day. Thankfully. I'm a bit concerned the hospital will report this to social care direct and/or police regardless but maybe they would have told me if so? I don't know but I've got nothing to hide. It's hard dealing with a 17yr old. I really appreciate everyone's help and support today thank you again.

Thanks for the update op. Expect a call from ss but Im sure they will just close the file, they will be concerned about her putting herself in harm’s way.

I think you've dealt with it well. Some fabulous wise words in here,

17year old are tricky beasts - they are
more or less adults, it's hard but it's the age where they start spreading their wings and making their own mistakes (and staying out overnight!)

I'm super impressed the DD got taken care of in just 3 hours, there is hope for A&Es somewhere.

I hope the DD can get find a positive way forward from this experience.

PatchworkElmer · 24/08/2021 17:44

Did they say she has to have repeat bloods? One of my friends had a vaguely similar experience and she had to have them repeated incase something showed up after a few months (don’t want to worry you, but they were looking for HIV). My friend was fine though.

Hope your DD is ok now Flowers

She'll need to complete the course of Hep B, it's not a one off vaccine, there's a further two doses, yhe sedond usually the following week or month. Has she made an appointment at the surgery? And yes, she'll need follow up bloods too.
