DrDresaid · 14/08/2021 00:20

I love it! It's on my all time favourites play list

QueenBee52 · 14/08/2021 00:21
YY @AlbertBridge It’s a great song as far as it goes, but It feels half written. Verse, chorus. Repeat. Noodle away. End.

10/10 for sentiment but I prefer Falling tbh. Saw them live around that time and a wonderful combination of perfect voice and guitar.

Ive never heard this.. its great 🎉

funnelfanjo · 14/08/2021 00:31

@QueenBee52 it is isn’t it?

Just like “Yes”, it’s got David’s voice, Bernards guitar, the soaring violins and the emotional lyrics and I want to turn the volume up to 11 and sing along. BUT it’s also got a tradition pop song structure of two verses/choruses and even a bridge before the final chorus. And a proper ending rather than a fade.

Just perfect.

BeQuietBrenda · 14/08/2021 00:33

Yes and Weak, Skunk Anansie - absolute bangers.

itsnotmeitsu · 14/08/2021 01:30
@itsnotmeitsu was that Fibbers by any chance?
Yes, it was Fibbers! Grin Were you there? RIP Fibbers x

FunnyWonder · 14/08/2021 01:42

@Wrongsideofhistorymyarse I had forgotten about that version of Diamonds Are Forever. Brilliant. And not too many men (or women) could pull off that white jumpsuit and feather boa ensemble!!

ItsNotNormalLove · 14/08/2021 01:52

I have always absolutely LOVED this song, my husband can't understand it, he doesn't think it's good. I don't understand people who don't think it's brilliant!

DewDew83 · 14/08/2021 03:35

I'll be a sourpuss Grin

Had never heard it before and, now that I have, I don't feel any richer for it.

HPLikecraft · 14/08/2021 04:14

It’s.....OK!
I enjoy hearing it, but wouldn't dwell on it. Nice tune, good singing, but quite forgettable; pleasant but underwhelming. I’m a bit surprised by the adoration on this thread, TBH.

And did someone really say that Size of a Cow was one of the best bsongs of the 90s? It’s like a bad novelty record - silly bouncy tune, crap lyrics and awful ‘singing’ 😂

PeterPipersPepper · 14/08/2021 04:48

Incredible song. Always stays with me.

Same Confused Not even sure how I've never heard it before, I was in my 20s in the 90s.
noworklifebalance · 14/08/2021 10:07

Check out their performance on Later with Jools Holland from the 90’s - that’s when it got me

Lookingoutside · 14/08/2021 10:19

Absolutely OP! I’m young again when I hear that song. I can practically smell the CK One GrinSmile

@StCharlotte

1996: The Greatest Hits is on Channel 5 right now. Bopping round the living room to Children...
I must apologise if anyone spent three hours watching that only for the top ten to include Toni Braxton and number one was the Spice Girls Blush No. 30 was Jamiroquai which I love. I had such high hopes Sad
CoasterCoaster · 14/08/2021 10:56

I loved that whole album, played it to death. Only bought it because the guy in the record shop I always used (I must've spent thousands in there so he knew I would love it) recommended it, one of his better suggestions still haven't forgiven him for the At the Drive-In album and Yes is my favourite track Smile

MulberrySquash · 14/08/2021 11:03

One of my all time favourites

imnottoofussed · 14/08/2021 11:05

I love it. I have it on my favourites Amazon playlist. Definitely to be played loudly

AleynEivlys · 14/08/2021 11:20

As soon as I saw the partial title of this thread in trending, I knew it was going to be about Yes.

SO YOU WANNA KNOW ME NOOOOW!!!!

Fucking tune!

Hobbes8 · 14/08/2021 11:31

I saw David McAlmont do a solo set at the jazz cafe and halfway through I turned round and realised Bernard Butler was standing behind me. I squeaked incoherently at my friend, who didn’t believe me, until he pushed right past me through the crowd, passing inches from my face as I gibbered with excitement, and joined McAlmont on stage to play Yes. Best gig.

Iamnotminterested · 14/08/2021 11:37

Cuddly Toy and Size of a Cow? Nah

Yes? Ja
