It's being reported on like it is a flippin' royal wedding! If they're going to continue with the wall to wall coverage, they could at least report that "Amzie" (sickmaking nickname) is not 43!

Just let them get on with it and stop the coverage now, it's beyond a joke.

He was on Tramadol.

The only place I've seen it is on here!!

Interesting article from a few days ago, pre wedding, saying how different this wedding was going to be from Ant's first, not a showbiz wedding, no 'razzmatazz', just friends and family:

www.mirror.co.uk/3am/celebrity-news/how-ant-mcpartlins-wedding-anne-24694520

Comes off looking pretty daft after the photos from the actual wedding.

FrangipaniDeLaSqueegeeMop · 09/08/2021 16:22

I thought everyone knew that in celeb land "exhaustion" or "addiction to painkillers" was code for "class A drug addict"

On another note it's so funny that Ant, his new wife and his ex-wife have so many close personal friends on MN 😂

FrangipaniDeLaSqueegeeMop · 09/08/2021 16:27

I think Ant and Lisa both had chaotic lifestyles and Ant realised he couldn't continue to be with her if he was to get clean

Shall we have a wee rendition of 'Blame the Woman'

Antwerpen · 09/08/2021 17:15

@stripedbananas

I thought he failed the breathalyser because he'd been drinking the night before so hours before he got in the car with his mum to take the dogs for a walk the next morning.

It's not like he got straight into a car and drove after stumbling out of the pub. There were hours in between.

I've seen Lisa talk and she's not that nice or sweet.

And as for his new wife people often get thrown together after being colleagues or friends so nothing new there to be getting worked up about.

I suggest you read your comments back re drink driving @stripedbananas and maybe you will realise how outrageous they are Hmm

@Sparklingbrook

The 'back of the spoon' thing rang a bell. Used to be said about Pete Townsend, not sure I see it with AM.
Def see it with Myleene Klass

I don't get all the love for a drink driver - and all the apologists that everyone deserves a second chance.

My DH's brother was killed by a drunk driver, who mounted the pavement, when he was 15. So I have zero sympathy for anyone who gets behind the wheel drunk

Willwebebuyingnumber11 · 09/08/2021 17:31

I didn’t even know one of them had gotten married

BrozTito · 09/08/2021 17:35

I knicked the spoon thing from Viz. They've got the measure of Ant and his cranium.

Is Viz still going? Blimey.

Me either regardless of how he found himself in the situation.

Lampzade · 09/08/2021 19:06

Both Ant and his ex appear to have moved on.

MauveMagnolia · 09/08/2021 19:10

@NeonJellyBaby

The woman with David Walliams is Keeley Hazell, a former page three girl. God knows how he manages to pull such attractive women? He makes me feel sick.
Weird outfit through- look like something costing less than £10.

It's the media that haven't. Or the tabloids, at least.
HealthKick2021 · 09/08/2021 19:11

They won't last- Mark my words. 😄

newnortherner111 · 09/08/2021 19:12

The rare times I watched Ant and Dec's shows became nil after his drink driving conviction. The magistrates should have banned him for the maximum period the soft law we have currently allows.

There are those prepared to accept that a potential killer has reformed, of course.

Yes they have and so should we.
Namechangeforthegamechange · 10/08/2021 23:43

I think she looked stunning and they seem so happy. They are often out and about walking dogs locally and they are just down to earth really nice people. How many of you guys slating him have driven the morning after a party and not given it a second thought (oh no no of course you haven’t) and if you had been caught out (in a small accident where no one was harmed) would you expect to fired and publicly ridiculed? He made a mistake, he paid for it he’s learned a lesson and moved on and in the process fallen in love after a shitty marriage. It happens EVERYDAY!! Good luck to them in my opinion.

And no I didn’t agree with drink driving, but there is a massive leap from going out and getting twatted and driving home to taking your mum and dog for a walk after a heavy night and being over the limit still

I am appalled at your excusing this as a 'small accident where no one was harmed'. The guy was over the limit, knew he was, put his mother at risk as well as other road users, and was also a drug addict.

There is absolutely no excuse whatsover. He knew what he was doing and he shouldn't have done it. And presenting themselves as the nation's endearing cheeky double act doesn't sit well with the image of a drunk driver drug addict, hence this is why he has got so much stick. If Fred down the road had done it, we wouldn't know, would we? But people in the public eye should know it will be all over the media and they will be pulled apart.

9 hours after 4 pints of lager is twice the limit. It’s not as much as people think it is and I guarantee a lot of precious appalled posters have driven the next day after a bottle of wine. (I don’t drink at all before you come at me oh appalled one)

Actually no I haven't driven after drinking a bottle of wine and I guess many others haven't, either. "Precious appalled posters" - you need a reality check.
