How many kids did you want v's how many you have

I wanted 3. I've got 2.

Wanted 3, had 3. Although for a long time I thought I was only going to have 2 - there's 14 years between DC2 and DC3. I would've been happy with 2, the third is a total blessing.

Always wanted 4 I have 3.
Absolutely no way I could have another as doctor warned it could kill me so DH had the snip.

1. none and 2. one.

2, and I have 3. Number 2 was twins, so I nearly got it right! Also a far bigger age gap than I'd envisaged ( 18 years) between dc1 and my dts and dc1 had pretty much left home by the time they were born so I guess I had 1 and then 2, rather than 3, iyswim!

I've never wanted a set number, at different stages in my life I've wanted 0,1 and 2. After a series of miscarriages and 2 difficult pregnancies with difficult births I have a gorgeous 4 year old son and a beautiful newborn girl. Everything sensible in me says that's enough but there's a little voice that says I've got one more in me. The surgeon who did my last section did not agree with that voice, he wants me to consider my family complete. I guess I'd better listen to him.

Wanted 2, then after having 1 didn't know if I could manage another pregnancy and birth but I did so we've had our 2. Very done now

@Secnarf I know how you feel. My dd went on and on about wanting a sibling but to be fair I think having her was my miracle. It used to upset me and I'd feel really guilty but I'm ok with it now and she has a baby cousin so I think she's fine too.

Wanted 4, but DH's cancer meant 0.

Still not done fighting though, about to go into another FET, 5 frosties left 🤞

Wanted 3 when I was clueless.

Then had 1 and thought I'd be happier with 0.

Now pregnant with number 2 🤦‍♀️

I keep fantasising about going on holiday without children... is that a thing people do??

Wanted three. Have three but unfortunately one was stillborn, so only two earthside.

We discussed having a fourth as we really did imagine three kids running round together, but I can’t do pregnancy after loss again. It’s just too mentally difficult and I don’t know I’d survive it to be honest.

I don’t know how many I want. I know my husband wants 5/6. We have 3 at the moment and might have a last one.

Wanted 6 had 4. Couldn't physically have anymore and we don't have space 😄.

Wanted 3 - got 2. Could probably still have a 3rd if I really wanted to but think I've left it too late. Not sure I could go back to the baby stage now.

Never wanted any but expected to have 2. Had a daughter 6 weeks ago. I don’t want to go through the first trimester again, but haven’t fully ruled it out. We’ll see what happens.

I have 1 and another on the way, I won't be having anymore.

O have 4 & 2 step children.

Hasn’t really given the number much thought but I knew I wanted to be a mum. We’ve now got three and I feel too old and tired for any more now (am 38 but 3 kids in 4 years has been brutal!) plus my husband has said absolutely not!
for those of you who haven’t had children that were very much wanted. Life can be cruel.

Wanted 2. Have 2. Kind of want 3 now, but undecided as I was sick every day of 1st trimester. DH happy with 2 but scared of vasectomy.
