How many kids did you want v's how many you have

Very grateful for the one we have, as it could have been none.

I do feel a momentary twinge of wistfulness when she asks to play “families” with us, and I have to pretend to be her sister, but she’s very good about it.

We’re older parents, so I do worry about her being unsupported when we are dependent or die.

Very much doubt I’ll go through this again but perhaps if I meet someone who wants a child. I’m more than happy with 3

I'm not sure I want any, but if I got with a partner that already had some, I'd do my best to raise them.

@finalcall how did you go about being sterilised and how was it? Any after effects? I want to be sterilised.

  1. Ended up with 1. Love them madly, can’t imagine life with them etc etc, but good God! I could not do it all over again. Blows my mind anyone does. 😂

I thought I wanted four and a dog. I’ve had two and did get a dog…i soon realized that I’m just not organized enough for a larger family!
It’s all worked out well, v. content with our two. Plus we’d be pretty broke if we’d had more children.

I wanted 3 and have 2 so far, a DS and a DD. DD is still tiny and DH has said no more but I’m holding out! Feel so so lucky to have had the 2 I’ve had though after 4 miscarriages.

Had 2 followed by numerous miscarriages and still birth of twins.

Then lost my eldest to cancer when he was 18.

So I just have my beautiful son with me.

If I knew then how heartbreaking it all was I don't know what I'd do. Wouldn't be without my son but the heartbreak has been unimaginable.

Wanted as many as I can (I'm the youngest of four myself) and I have 2. Really want to start ttc number 3 after a mc earlier this year, but DH not so convinced. Very happy with my two boys though, they are wonderful 😍

I wanted 3, have two, third is on its way. They are in the order of sex that I imagined I would have. Dh would like 4 but I think that would be pushing it health wise for me.

I always wanted 6 from being a child myself! I have 6 wonderful and amazing children who are all close in age 🥰
