How many kids did you want v's how many you have

I wanted 3. I've got 2.

2 and 2. I'm definitely done. Enjoying getting rid of the pregnancy and baby stuff as I finish with it.

Before I had babies, I wanted one of each, preferably boy than girl, and it's what I got, although after DS was born, I realised I'd be just as happy with a second boy. It is lovely to have one of each though.

I feel very lucky... well not all the time as they're HARD WORK! But most of the time

I didn’t want children but have 1. I adore the bones of them but I was/am far to selfish to have any more, I wanted my career and the nicer things life can offer rather than more children. Two years of sleep deprivation was enough for me! My hat comes off to those who have more than one child, I guess I’m not naturally maternal. Having one also meant that I could give my child everything and not have to think about money.

Have 2.
Want 6 but don't think finances and terrible HG will allow!
Definitely don't feel done yet though so hopefully will be blessed with at least one more.

Wanted 4. I think I got 4, not sure if I should count the one I miscarried. I have 3 living DC and not having more.

ExDH got ill, and he didn't want any more.

Left him, now I'm probably too old.

I wanted a girl and was over the moon when she arrived. We never planned on having an only child so I knew we would have another. I felt so lucky when another girl arrived. I always wanted another, ideally another girl but my wife just thought about the finances and practicalities and pretty much made the decision - it did matter to me but I had to accept it. I sometimes think about what she would have been like. My DD's are 26 and 28 now. Even with hindsight still wish we'd had another. I also wanted to adopt but it just wasn't something she ever wanted to do.

Wanted 2, got 3 (second pregnancy was twins)

Years later I still feel guilty because I love having siblings myself but have to keep reminding myself that this was best. It really helps that it's not unusual where I live now to have 1.

I wanted two and have two, from three pregnancies. 2nd trimester loss 1st time around following difficulties conceiving initially. I think I would have another but DH not keen. Having two is fantastic though and I know how lucky I have been in the end. to anyone it didn't work out for. I never thought I would be a mother after the first loss and it was absolutely devastating.

I wanted 2, I have 5. Adoption of the kids no one else seemed to want 🤷🏼‍♀️

Wasn’t sure about how many. Fortunately I didn’t plan too much, as I had fertility problems and eventually diagnosed with severe endometriosis plus other things. Lost two pregnancies, one with a haemorrhage and emergency surgery.

Have 3. They are my light.

Wanted 4 and pregnant with number 4. I'm only 28 but will be getting sterilised next year if NHS allow as I know I will be 100% done.

Always thought I wanted 3. Had the first and revised that too 2.

Now have 2, sticking with that.

When I was younger I wanted 4. As time went on I thought 2 would be perfect. I have one and lost what would have been number 2 at 10 weeks. Age and other circumstances now mean I'm likely one and done
