How many kids did you want v's how many you have

I wanted 3. I've got 2.

Wanted 2/3 but leaning towards 3.

Have 2 and still undecided about the third. I decided to wait a few years and see how I feel when my 2 are a bit older (now nearly 3 and 1.5). I'm 34 and if I try it'd be around 37 but I've already decided that even if I do go for it and it doesn't work out, I'll be disappointed but not heartbroken.

I really feel for the pp for whom it didn't happen.

i’m one of three and really close to my siblings so i always thought i’d have three, but we now have four.

Maybe 1. Have 3. More maternal then I ever thought I'd be but feel weird about having three as I don't think it's very socially responsible.

Wanted 2 or 3, 3rd was twins so ended up with 4

I never wanted kids. It just wasn't on my radar.

I have two. Oops!

The first was very much unplanned but I wouldn't be without them. My life is much richer for them being part of it.

I wasn't too bothered.

Wanted 2 or 3. Had 2 and that was definitely enough!

At various times I wanted none, 5 and 3. When the time came I wasn't sure, but after dc1 I knew I wanted another and after dc2 I knew I was done.

Wanted 3 and am 100000% stopping at 2

Would have liked 4...but stopped at 2.

Wanted 2. Have one. Sometimes get depressed about it, but nothing I can do about it now so have to accept it.

I have 4. At one point you could say I had 5 as I had a dsc. I’m happy with 4

Wanted 4. Have 2. Once I realized how expensive kids were, I was happy to stop at 2. We'd both said we didn't want more children than we could afford and there never seemed the right time financially for #3. Mine are teenagers now and I'm enjoying them and the freedom that brings for me. I couldn't go back to the baby stages and the childcare fees.

Wanted 3, but like quite a few others, secondary infertility scrapped that and we have 1.

I haven’t really accepted it; in that I can’t bear to say we are done, but in reality several miscarriages including some serious haemorrhages and a molar pregnancy, and an ever mounting age gap means that’s probably it.

Wanted 3.... have 4! Wouldn’t be without them obvs but I’m very very grey haired

I always wanted 4, I currently have 2 and I lost one inbetween them.
Children having special needs and disabilities have made things much harder and genetic testing now plays a part in the future of our family. I have also had hemorrhages during and after my births which were very frightening.
I would still love more but I don’t know if I’m strong enough to go through the tests we need and whether I’m brave enough to risk myself during labour again.
My two are both beautiful, wonderful little people and I am so thankful I managed to get them here despite the barriers we’ve been dealt.
