Why do people put these stickers on their car?

I was just following a car that had two stickers on the back - one saying "kiss my arse" and a Betty Boop cartoon with her bum exposed, and the other saying "you've just been overtaken by a girl". (See attached pics if interested).

Is it just me, or is this incredibly tacky? I mean, the "baby on board" stuff doesn't bother me. But why oh why does anyone need to announce that they are female for the benefit of the car they have overtaken? Doesn't this just perpetuate silly gender stereotypes about women drivers? And why tell a random stranger behind you to "kiss your arse"? Is that really necessary?

Do you have such slogans on your car? If so, please could you explain why, so that I can put this issue to bed and move on with my day.

(I've been disproportionately irritated by this today - can you tell...?)

Any sticker of any kind is horrible.

The worst are the 'fake taxi' stickers. Yes I have seen them. And no I really don't think the drivers know what 'fake taxi' means.

I’d assume these women have never been subjected to road rage by men, just because they’re a woman and overtaken them (or not allowed the man to bully his way in) and therefore think it’s ‘cute’. I imagine if they get something thrown at their open window by a man who didn’t get his own way, they’d quickly remove the stickers.

This. I was harassed for over 30 miles by a guy I overtook on a motorway once - no silly stickers. It was terrifying.

2 of the absolute worst of the worst stickers I've ever seen to date are:

• "no fat chicks..... car will scrape"
• that horrific hand gesture of the first 2 fingers and pinky".... I'll attach a pic to show what I mean.

Usually found on the most chav tastic sheds on wheels... aka my ex boyfriend!

In Wigan (locals known as "pie eaters") A van with the sticker "No pies are left in this vehicle overnight".

On a more serious note, I thought they were there to alert other drivers that the driver of the vehicle with the sign might be distracted from their driving. If the baby suddenly wakes up/gets wind/poops/ screams it head off for whatever reason. Just be kind and give them a little extra space?

If it makes anyone feel better, the rhymes for that hand signal exist only because the only people who ever use the sign need the rhymes...because they have no other way of learning anything about a woman's body since they have never seen or touched a vagina since birth.

All signs are terrible. I always feel sorry for the cars with black boxes however!

Honestly, I wasn't expecting this thread to go this way ....

I do hope 14/15 yr old boys aren't using these disgusting rhymes. My DD is 15 and I'd rather she wasn't subjected to this in the classroom 😩

Just feel sorry for them, as they are not very bright, and buy into all this tatty rubbish.. They can cause accidents at times, with people losing concentration when reading them, and then crashing into the vehicle ahead.

Who knows! I’ve not been there since the 90s. I’d expect most men my age to know what the shocker is though!

The only funny car sticker I've ever seen was a Greenpeace sticker on a Lamborghini Murcielago.

Unfortunately I've heard language from younger boys - about 12/14 hanging outside Tesco shouting "get yer tits out" to any passing girls. Have also heard a girl about similar age shout back "you'd no Ken whit tae dae wae it" (translated to you wouldn't know what to do with it if you ever saw them)

The blacked out windows and the big exhaust would be enough to make me 🙄🙄 ... never mind the ridiculous sticker!

I have a work colleague with a overtaken by a girl sticker. She's a middle aged woman, not a girl. She also drives like an idiot, overtaking dangerously only to be stuck behind the next car so you catch up to her anyway, she doesn't get anywhere any faster. Those kind of stickers just let me know which cars to stay an extra safe distance from.

I once worked with an agency nurse who pulled in to the car park with 'I love Laura's pussy' emblazoned on his bumper.
