To think loose women is awful

I'm not a regular watcher, happened to be on today when I was feeding my baby and couldn't reach the remote.

I couldn't help but think it really is bloody awful. Four women swooning over men. Would be completely inappropriate if it was a panel of four men doing the same to one women. They then discussed wether the the name 'grandma' is offensive whilst one of them dressed in a headscarf, cardigan and had knitting needles in her hand

They also discussed the Wayne Rooney saga and as is the case any other time I've caught some of it, they just go over and over their own marriage break downs etc. Is there really nothing else they could put on the tv!?

I just wish they covered more intellectual topics. It's all nonsense and it's not showing women in a great light. A show with female leaders in business, sciences and technology would be far more interesting. I don't bother with it (as I'm too busy working anyway).

I managed watch probably grand total of 20mins over the years. I've given it 5mins chance whilst channel hopping then decide nope still utter cringey shite then move on.

Is Coleen Nolan still on it? She's been on it for years. When it started it was meant to be edgy and non-dumb. Kaye Adams was on it and she wasn't terrible. But then it seems to have just descended into a 'Live, Laugh, Love', prosecco/gin o'clock cliche of what women are meant to talk like. Dreadful.

I'm always a bit of the amount of criticism Loose Women attracts. I don't watch it, though do like some of the presenters - however 90% of tele is shite, why does LW in particular get so much hate? It's not meant to be intellectually stimulating, it's a gossip show.

But on MN you get many opinions, some controversy and a good debate (sometimes!)
As far as I could see today, it was four women with the same bland opinion just speaking at eachother. They essentially all seem to be cut from the same cloth. They don't appear to get any opposing opinions. A sure way to feel like you are intelligent and correct is to surround yourself with extremely similar people

I haven’t seen it for years as I don’t watch much live tv anymore. I never really understood how we were meant to be interested in the opinions of these random ‘celebs’ but it’s been on for years so clearly lots of people think differently. I didn’t mind Christine Lampard, is she still on it? The rest just seemed to love the sound of their own voice, but I suppose that’s their job on that programme. 😂 We all like different stuff I suppose.

I used to love Loose Women when it first started. I have stopped watching it now. I was annoyed when they wouldn’t talk about brexit after the results were announced. They decided to have a brexit free zone! I thought that they were supposed to be controversy and talk about subjects and give good discussion about current affairs. This show is so biased as well. Janet Street-Porter, can say and do no wrong. Jamelia gets fired for talking about larger women and clothes. I can’t remember entirely what she said. LW has had its time. They need a new programme to take over from it. I won’t ever watch it again. Not that they would be bothered!

I haven't watched for years and years, but when it started it was quite a good programme covering interesting topics. As for Coleen Nolan, she was on a programme, again some time ago, when she was exploring ways of looking younger, including Botox and plastic surgery. All I could think of was that a couple of inches off her hair would do the trick.

Yes, agree. My MIL loves it and I've only ever seen it at her house - feel like throwing something at the telly when it's on.

Having said that, I think most 'daytime TV' is pretty bad.
