There's this baby I know who has recently decided that every moment he is awake, it is appropriate to SHOUT. It doesn't matter where we are either (he seems to follow me everywhere), at home, in the shops, during my routine eye test the other day (the only time he actually stopped was to take a giant dump much to the amusement of the optician who was trying to remain professional).

When it first started, I thought something may be up so being a good mum person, checked on him. But no, there is no crying, no frustration, this kid thinks it's hilarious.

I've politely asked him to stop but it's made no difference and I'm sure I saw a little middle finger go up at one point although I may have hallucinated that part.

My husband is at work during the day so is only subjected to this for a few hours in the evening. He thinks it's funny and actually encourages it, shouting back! LTB?

Anyway, what should I do about this my shouting baby? I should at least log it with 101 right? Will my MP be interested?

Get your ducks in a row and leave. He is being emotionally abusive im sure. Tell him he needs to get a job will his legs stretch to a paper round? Mine was working full time aged 2. I think you neeed to stop and help him to realise that his consequences have actions....maybe mediation?😁

I know this is a jokey thread (and I'm not all serious, I find the replies funny ) but has he had his ears checked? My bub had really bad ear infections and was always crying until we figured this out.

I think you’re all being fantastically cruel. This baby might well have mental health issues.Or dementia.

Try to be more understanding.

I’d wager your MIL has something to do with this….

Have you checked the manual to find out where the batteries are? Take them out for a few days months years minutes, to give yourself a break.

Or you could consider boarding school.

Apparently if you get them to cough, sneeze, fart and click their fingers all at the same time it’s supposed to trigger a manual reset?? If that doesn’t work stick it in a bag of riceGrin

@ShielaSaz sorry but I’m pretty sure your house guest is a serious CF! How many months has he been living with you rent free? Does he pick up after himself? offer to pay for a takeaway once in a while? Nip to the offy for you?

If the answer is no and your literally just dealing with the shrieking you need to wise up quick you absolute mug, have you always been Such a people Pleaser?

Have you considered SEN? Baby could be masking some of his difficulties with communication.

Sorry but you can’t put it on Etsy without CE testing first. What if the new owner chokes on an eye?

STORK FACTORY
Unfortunately these items do need regular updates. At around 1,2,and 4 years old.
Volume control is only available with added pressure from the buyer.

At 5 some relief can be had from shouting, but constant talking can become a problem.

Reset is then required again at around 12, 13 years. This reset is often into almost silent mode, although some grunting can take place.

Thankfully as the item becomes bigger than you, volume is normally only loud, when mixed with alcohol and Rugby.

Final reset. They bring another shouter home with them, so they can take their co conspirator on a weekend away and leave the shouter behind.

This shouter will call you Grannie insted of Mum though.

Just leave. Get your keys, go and read a magazine in the car.

BETTER YET.

Book into a hotel and go for a spa day.

That'll learn 'em.

Everyone saying sell on ebay or contact your local council is completely out of order.

Surely your first contact is HR?? They should be issuing the tiny shouting person with a formal written warning due to inappropriate workplace noise levels.

Have you tried ringing the school this —your— baby will one day maybe go to and asked them to sort it out? It’s really their fault. The baby’s future head of year should really take responsibility, even if they’re still at university themselves and don’t even know they want to be a teacher yet.

I had one of these, he hard reset himself at about 12 years old and has hardly said a word since. Time heals.

I can't believe they're still selling these defective models. I've complained so many times. I ended up with two in the end (admin error), all that's happened is they shout at each other too now. The only updates I had available made it worse, it's now more of a shriek/scream noise along with windmill arms.
You have my sympathies OP, I hear they do get quieter in around 15 years if that's any help?

Are you on day 5 of the tiny roast chicken that you cooked on Sunday? Maybe the baby is hungry?

You need to be more assertive OP. He has no respect for you. You need to have a serious conversation about moving out and finding his own place. Children stay at home far too long these days.....
