I think the dress is fine for for a wedding. Just make sure you wear the right accessories, maybe a blue shawl some borrowed earrings a new sparkly necklace and an old handbag which is red to match the shoes.

@Zenithbear

Unless people are being deliberately obtuse, some of these answers explains a lot of the hyperbolic comments on the coronavirus threads.
This🙄.

This thread has some great posts.😁

@ChardonnaysPetDragon

This must be a wind up. No shit Sherlock....
😂😂
SpindleWhorl · 26/07/2021 22:47

There's a Venn diagram somewhere ...

Averyyounggrandmaofsix · 26/07/2021 22:48

I can't decide if some if the posts are double bluffs, surely this can't be too subtle can it?

notthemum · 26/07/2021 22:49

Not unless you are the one getting married

Deadringer · 26/07/2021 22:52

My mum wore that exact dress to my wedding.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 26/07/2021 22:53

357 posts. Why wouldn't you at least look at the OP's posts before posting?

IrishCharm · 26/07/2021 23:19

Love it - definitely with the bright red shoes and fascinator - if no one asked yet, can I be your plus one? 😂😂😂😂

VillanellesOrangeCoat · 26/07/2021 23:28

@August1980

It’s not appropriate at all!
Why don’t you try red carpets outfits in the search box instead? A bridal gown when you are not the bride is inappropriate no matter how you style it!

To be fair, August1980 has a valid point. Here’s some red carpet inspiration for you…

Please wear white trainers with it too.

Cos everything must be worn with white trainers
Wedding dress
Funeral attire
Interview outfit
Going gardening
Red carpet Oscars
School run
Going to bed
White trainers always

Helloandhelloagain · 27/07/2021 00:10

Love it ! Need an accessory though else you’ll just look ridiculous! Er I’m thinking??? Maybe a ....., groom ? 😂

SpindleWhorl · 27/07/2021 00:42

Oh yes, @bonfireheart, lovely white trainers, a little denim jacket over the beautiful dress, and a loud tinkly-laughter-type accent reminiscent of Lily James rehearsing The Pursuit of Love on the Alconleigh set.

Before she'd properly learned her lines.

Pissed.

DojoWojo · 27/07/2021 00:46

Do you know what the colour scheme is? You don't want your accessories to clash.

If you're buying the dress new, have you got some old jewellery to go with it? Maybe blue Sapphires? And maybe borrow some shoes?

Ijustknowitstimetogo · 27/07/2021 00:47

Hiya Cathy!

Nancydrawn · 27/07/2021 01:09

@DrSbaitso hahahahaha excellent

Mamanyt · 27/07/2021 01:10

If this is serious, which I HIGHLY doubt, OP is beyond hope.

JuneJuly · 27/07/2021 01:15

Is this thread mocking another specific thread? ('cos if it is I'd love to read it - linky anyone?) Or is it just a piss-take of these kinds of threads in general?

HighNetGirth · 27/07/2021 01:15

Sadiecow, massive spangly platforms with Perspex stiletto heels, I think.

wingingmywaythroughlife · 27/07/2021 01:39

@Bouledeneige

Great dress. I'm thinking you should learn a choreographed dance routine to add to the fun...
The routine in Steps version of Tragedy

Also, taking notes for future Mother of the Groom outfits for if/when my 2yr old DS decides to marry 🤔...

Anyusernameleft · 27/07/2021 01:43

'Arrive last obvs. You don't want to cause trouble in the car park.'

But maybe though you should enter the church/venue just before the bride (when the music begins) as it would be rude to be after her & therefore late (v rude!). Obviously walk elegantly & gracefully down the aisle (think gliding slowly & serenely & you have it) as rushing to a seat is unbecoming...& also go right up to the top....after all you are family & likely there will be a seat just waiting for you. 🤣

HauteGirlSummer · 27/07/2021 02:02

Lmao 🤣 this thread has given me a proper laugh . Good one Op and sooo many great suggestions.
I personally would go for a floor-trailing veil or one that was a few feet longer than pictured.

NoLongerWantLiamToWin · 27/07/2021 04:02

@Chunkymenrock

What? It IS a wedding dress. So totally inappropriate.
I think the veil is perfect. I read something about there being lots of horse flies around this summer.
MissTrip82 · 27/07/2021 04:58

Ahahahaa.

Don’t forget the usual ‘colour is fine for a wedding but it looks cheap/slutty/nasty HTH’
