I have a friend who once turned up to a wedding in a green dress, with green bolero, green hat, green tights, green shoes and green handbag. She earned the nickname ‘the green goblin’ and it’s stuck with her ever since. Green shoes perhaps ?!!!

LavenderAskew · 26/07/2021 18:55

@Kittysummer

Never wear white to a wedding and definitely not red as it means you slept with the groom
What the fudge?

Red means you've slept with the groom? Feck - I've some explaining to do to my newest sister in law.

SpindleWhorl · 26/07/2021 18:57

I'm on the fence about the cerise shoes, tbh. You don't want to blend into the carpark and regulation adjacent flowerbed.

The bride and groom have probably spent a lot of money on their perfect day. You should make a really big effort for it.

A statement effort.

@CreakingatTheWhinges. OK, since you brought it up, my absolute record at meals squeezed out of the the Sunday roast chicken is seven. Admittedly there are only two of us and it was a large chicken, but we got the Sunday dinner, coronation chicken salad, a curry for two, a casserole with the legs, hot chicken baguettes, chicken fried rice and chicken vegetable soup made with the carcass. Do I win the thread ?!!!

midsomermurderess · 26/07/2021 18:59

Gordon Bennet, some people do need things spelled out for them, don't they, that someone is taking the piss out of the rash of such threads recently. Still, mustn't miss an opportunity for this: Hmm This place is wearying these days.

pam290358 · 26/07/2021 19:01

Shit !! Didn’t know wearing red to a wedding means you’ve slept with the groom. Is that a thing then ?

Alconleigh · 26/07/2021 19:02

The number of people responding seriously is blowing my mind. How do people get through life being that literal and unable to spot a piss take?

pam290358 · 26/07/2021 19:04

I favour a shell suit, teamed with white pumps threaded with black laces. A white fascination would top it off beautifully.

ConfusedCarrie · 26/07/2021 19:05

Agree it needs a splash of colour and maybe a bit of sparkle

pam290358 · 26/07/2021 19:05

Fascinator - bloody predictive text !!

mussymummy · 26/07/2021 19:07

Hahahahhaha please please say this is a piss take, no one in their right mind would actually consider wearing a bloody wedding dress to a wedding where they were not the bride. Seriously is this for fucking real

I think not...
LostInManchester · 26/07/2021 19:13

I once went to a wedding, and came in my pants. Suited me

midsomermurderess · 26/07/2021 19:15

It's a challenge, mussy, but go on, you'll get there.

sotiredofthislonelylife · 26/07/2021 19:17

Oops!! 🤣🤣🤣

Ninkanink · 26/07/2021 19:18

Of course it’s for real. Confused Hmm

And all the comments are definitely absolutely serious too.

MadKittenWoman · 26/07/2021 19:18

Er, no.

SpindleWhorl · 26/07/2021 19:23

Why wouldn't this be a serious discussion? Seems harsh. We're not all obsessed with, erm, fashion and weddings.

Hey, I've got a bridge to sell you.
VanGoSunflowers · 26/07/2021 19:30

I’m definitely dressing up as a bridge to the next high brow function I attend

Lotsoflaughs87 · 26/07/2021 19:33

I actually thought this was a joke thread.... I would be livid, it IS a wedding dress.

pam290358 · 26/07/2021 19:33

@Sadiecow. Because I don’t like stir fry - I always seem to end up with veg that is too crunchy and my jaws ache from chewing !!!

Sadiecow · 26/07/2021 19:36

But you could've eeked that chicken out that bit further! MN does not allow for people having different tastes and likes! You must just eat food, whatever it is, because otherwise it's a waste!
