Would you be bothered if someone said bloody in front of your 11 year old?

Not really thinking, at a party. No younger kids heard. Would you be overly offended? It wasn't me or my child involved but I think at 11 I wouldn't have minded my children hearing that. What's everyone else's thoughts?

No.

Pumpkinpops · 19/07/2021 07:27

Wouldn't have batted an eyelid.

Shade17 · 19/07/2021 07:28

I’d imagine most 11 year olds know much stronger language than that!

Greenwateringcan · 19/07/2021 07:28

Wouldn’t have bothered me.

D0D0 · 19/07/2021 07:28

No it wouldn’t bother me. They’ll have heard far worse than that on the playground by then.

Arrivederla · 19/07/2021 07:28

Of course not.

ProfSprout · 19/07/2021 07:28

No I wouldn’t in the slightest.

My dc (younger than 11) are aware of swear words & know them. They also know sometimes adults say them but they are not for children to say. No big deal.

Needapoodle · 19/07/2021 07:28

What's the kid saying out of earshot of their parents i wonder? Grin

warmfluffytowels · 19/07/2021 07:29

Not at all.

They'll have heard far, far worse at school.

Lolly86 · 19/07/2021 07:29

Wouldn't have minded at all

ballsdeep · 19/07/2021 07:31

I think by 11 they would have heard many more and much worse swear words than that.

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 19/07/2021 07:31

Mine are younger and have heard a lot worse.

I expect an 11yo to know swear words and why they aren't used to polite conversation.

Ikeameatballs · 19/07/2021 07:32

Not at all. Mine have heard worse from me!

Herja · 19/07/2021 07:33

Wouldn't even register. 'Bloody' is one of the more child friendly swear words, I've come cross it in several childrens books. Ron Weasley says bloody rather rather a lot - I read the Harry Potter books happily to DS aged 8, without ommiting any of it.

bonfireheart · 19/07/2021 07:33

Nope!

FatOaf · 19/07/2021 07:34

Been walking & sitting in the park a lot during the nice weather. Background conversation of other park users runs at an average of 20 "fuck"s per minute. The 11-year-old (and younger children) will be hearing this wherever they go. A single "bloody" at a party won't even register.

daisypond · 19/07/2021 07:35

No.

careerchangeperhaps · 19/07/2021 07:35

No

Gladimnotcampinginthisweather · 19/07/2021 07:35

I have heard the F word and the C word from seven year olds in the school playground. Pretty sure you don't get to 11 without hearing swearing.

LimeRedBanana · 19/07/2021 07:36

For heaven’s sake, of course not. And I say this as someone who doesn’t swear in front of their kids.

11YOs will hear this sort of thing from time-to-time!

exLtEveDallas · 19/07/2021 07:37

I had an 8 year old call me a “fucking wanker” a few weeks ago, so no I wouldn’t even notice tbh.

uktrippin · 19/07/2021 07:38

Bloody hell, really?

FindingMeno · 19/07/2021 07:38

No.
Wouldn't notice.

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 19/07/2021 07:39

Not bloody likely

exLtEveDallas · 19/07/2021 07:39

@uktrippin me?
Yes, unfortunately. He was a very angry little boy, but have to admit that took me aback a bit!
