'Where Are They Now' if AIBU threads?

Do you even find yourself suddenly remembering a particular scenario, and wondering where the people involved are today, if the behaviour is still carrying on, did she ever LTB, etc?

Even if the thread had a resolution to the scenario, if things ever repeated again?

The one that came into my mind vividly today was about a woman who'd gone to collect her child (believe it was a DD) and came home to find that her husband had left the key in the door on the other side meaning they couldn't get in, and despite being able to see 'D'H in the window and signalling to him, he refused to come and open the door as he was on a work call? From memory they were left waiting for about an hour and DD had to wee in the garden.

I remember feeling so outraged for her, and find myself wondering now if it was just a one off or if the bastard has continued doing shitty things to them.

Any other ones that have left an impression?

tootiredtothinkofanewname was the one who's husband was using their savings to buy class As

CoolCatTaco · 14/07/2021 18:52

I'd love to know what happened to the one with the crazy MIL who ate her dinner on the OP's doorstep, I think she was called,Yellowblinds. The thread was hilarious.
And the one who realised on her 35th birthday that her marriage was over. She was in Ireland & her DH sounded awful, her name was something like mammynowauntieIRL. I really felt for her & hoped things worked out for her.

AlfonsoTheMango · 14/07/2021 19:09

And Expat... I don't think that was her full username but I can't quite remember. I liked how she suffered no fools.

ExpatInScotland?

I always think of the woman whose husband had been having an affair...Truly40 I think her name was. She came across as really lovely and so decent, and she desperately wanted her marriage to work. The last I read from her threads she was very optimistic as her husband was making all the right noises but posters were tearing their hair out that she was doing the Pick Me dance. I often think of her and hope she is ok.

bruffin · 14/07/2021 19:20

@CloudPop

Whatever happened to BertrandRussell, she's stopped posting completely. Used to be very insightful.
She name changed
Shirleyphallus · 14/07/2021 19:24

I used to be someone else who occasionally gets on the “whatever happened to XYZ” and it’s 2% annoying not to be able to say OH BUT IM STILL HERE!!! Also obviously that no one has noticed how bloody hilarious I am under this name 🤷‍♀️

Biscoffbiscou · 14/07/2021 19:24

@AngusThermopyle

I have one from years ago that I always wonder about.
It was titled something like ‘oh no, not my lovely DH’.
The dh was playing with kids in the garden and she’d just found out (from on his phone I think) that he had been cheating.
Can not for the life of me remember the name or what happened but I’ve often wondered.

I remember that one

Just did a search...I hadn't realised she had made a follow up thread where she said her husband had later left to be with the OW. She sounded very accepting and pragmatic on her second thread and ready to move on. If you're still here @Truly40 I hope you're doing great and your ex not so much.Thanks

Biscoffbiscou · 14/07/2021 19:34

@Taliskerskye

How do people know they’re fake. Just cause mumsnet tells you?
Exactly - I’ve had threads taken down before because it had been decided by someone they were fake, but they in fact weren’t.

No one contacts you to check you’re real, they just put a message on the thread so it could give the impression that more posts are fake than really are.

They never verified whether mine was or not in anyway, they just judged it to ‘seem’ fake. On what grounds I don’t know! So they don’t know what their hit rate is either.

catinboots21 · 14/07/2021 19:37

Anyone else remember that youngish poster (years before ESD) who had an 'oh suprize babeeeee'

Strandedbear or something? She was all over the place on every thread then got caught socking on a begging thread. She also added MNers on fb and the surprise baby story was complete bs

Sadiecow · 14/07/2021 19:45

God we've seen some classics!!

PollyPepper · 14/07/2021 22:46

I always found BertrandRussell to be a bit of a douche tbh.

expatinscotland , yes I’ve noticed her absence

Dumplings no more was a thread on relationships ten years ago when I was red raw from being dumped by my DH , fantastic threads I hope the posters on it are flourishing

x2boys · 14/07/2021 23:11

Pretty sure Expat is still around under a name change, could be wrong.

monotonousmum · 14/07/2021 23:43

@SecretKeeper1

I just read that whole thread and I was pretty sure on page 3ish that I knew what the flight seat was, and by extension the FLY space. But no one else said it so maybe I'm also a little crazy! Grin

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 15/07/2021 00:20

That's a brilliant thread AutistGoth, I wish I'd seen it at the time. Grin

Lottie is still about, but with a new name.

Binkybix · 15/07/2021 01:26

I wonder about the poster who pretended they lived in a central London 1 bed apartment with 2 kids and how great it was, and also the poster who was hinting that she was semi famous and going out with a billionaire and was disappointed her child was a boy.

messybun101 · 15/07/2021 06:32

Remember the woman who asked others 'AIBU to ask what your vulva looks like' ... she was soon told yes, this is absolutely unreasonable to ask

Ijsbear · 15/07/2021 08:25

@PollyPepper

Agreed, and there's another poster around now who said to a betrayed wife "just to make it crystal clear, your husband chose her over you". Cut from so similar a cloth I wonder if it's the same person.

And so many people think Herbert the Pervert asking these questions is a genuine female MNer....
Geamhradh · 15/07/2021 10:11

Bertrand wouldn't have said that to another woman.
She did my fecking head in, mainly with her views about those who found religion a comfort (not me) and her insistence on barking "link?" to anyone refuting her own subjective opinion on anything.
On other subjects she was usually spot on.
Iirc she disappeared after a namechange fail or sth like that.

'Dog and bone' used to spring to mind. The 'Link' thing and hounding people to respond was tiresome. But TBF a few new ones have popped up now that do exactly the same.
Sparklingbrook · 15/07/2021 10:27

Meaning 'dog with a bone' rather than cockney rhyming slang. Grin
