Do you even find yourself suddenly remembering a particular scenario, and wondering where the people involved are today, if the behaviour is still carrying on, did she ever LTB, etc?

Even if the thread had a resolution to the scenario, if things ever repeated again?

The one that came into my mind vividly today was about a woman who'd gone to collect her child (believe it was a DD) and came home to find that her husband had left the key in the door on the other side meaning they couldn't get in, and despite being able to see 'D'H in the window and signalling to him, he refused to come and open the door as he was on a work call? From memory they were left waiting for about an hour and DD had to wee in the garden.

I remember feeling so outraged for her, and find myself wondering now if it was just a one off or if the bastard has continued doing shitty things to them.

Any other ones that have left an impression?

@seanceinterrupted

What happened to the lady whose neighbours had illegally installed a door leading into her garden? (Listed house I think)...
I think of this one often. Or was a four walled private garden wasn’t it?

I know it got serious/legal and she stopped posting about it.

cabingirl · 12/07/2021 21:20

And quite a recent one about the lady whose dog was sleeping in the window of her house and someone kept reporting her to the RSPCA for having a distressed or drugged dog.

Did the RSPCA ever come back?

Riven - and yes of course it was election time!

What face cream?!

RunningFromInsanity · 12/07/2021 21:24

I remember one where their child was made to do a ‘trust fall’ from a desk and she was dropped and banged her head causing some nasty injuries. The club refused any responsibility.
I always wondered what happened in the end.

ShirleyDab · 12/07/2021 21:26

A lovely thread by somerville or similar who posted of having her first date after being widowed. People were giving her encouragement and advice before the date. In the end she married him and everyone was rooting for them - it was very heartwarming.
I still think of her and hope they found happiness together.

Athenajm80 · 12/07/2021 21:27

There was one where the husband made her eat paper in front of his parents (a drawing she'd done I think). That has stuck with me and I hope she's ok.

I had another thread pop into my mind while I was reading this one, but I've forgotten what it was now.

Etinox · 12/07/2021 21:30

@Shirleyphallus

Who was the lady who had a surprise baby and had been hacked? Was that eatshitderek?
Yes, she wasn’t rough, just young and northern. Great fun iirc.
frogface69 · 12/07/2021 21:30

EmmalineC that sounds exactly like her ! Had threesomes and all sorts . Yeah, right...!

I was thinking of that one too.
BertiesShoes · 12/07/2021 21:32

@ShirleyDab

Somerville is still around - saw some posts last year - they had a baby after getting married.

theweedonkeyfella · 12/07/2021 21:33

Perhaps you're right about Birdie Friend @ThatLibraryMiss. I didn't read it in real time, I read it once we were in lockdown and it all seemed to fit but probably all in the context of those strange times. If I recall correctly, Birdie started telling the OP she wouldn't be around for Valentines day or similar so a sailor was coming to exercise their house and then the OP stopped posting. It was all a bit bonkers really considering Birdie was a childs pin badge! Grin

@Jumpjumpjumper

There was a thread recently... A lady in her 50s or so, who had been planning to leave her husband/partner. I think his sons weren't nice to her but I could be making it up. She'd got things in place to leave. I could never find the thread after.
Was this the lady that was supposedly completing on her new secret house on Good Friday, when banks were shut etc? Confirmed troll.

Birdie Friend was the most tedious load of old crystal bollocks ever to have graced MN.

TickyTok · 12/07/2021 21:43

The one thread that somehow stuck in my head was the houseguest who never left her room. Late 2019 I think..? Must have been before lockdown as the guests were on a stopover while travelling to visit family. Theories ranged from agoraphobia, emetophobia, pregnancy, abuse, arrogance and the updates were mundane but riveting.

One I do was by a mum who's little girl became really tired and apathetic, out of the blue. I don't know if she ever came back, or we found out what happened.

If it's the one about a toddler who slept a lot, that was deleted for being fake. The OP was exposed after posting in a different thread about having a second child with cancer.

me4real · 12/07/2021 21:46

Also my own threads of course. Grin I mean, I don't wonder what happened to me, but I remember how people on the thread helped me every single day, even 18 months later.

Henrysmycat · 12/07/2021 21:46

Most have been mentioned but I can’t forget that mother with a dying boy in hospital (her name was a homage to a kids show with airplanes her boy liked). It broke my heart when he died.
I think of her a lot and hope she’s doing fine.

Bathshebahardy · 12/07/2021 21:49

There was a long thread from a woman who had two boys who were being turned against her by her abusive ex. She was pregnant with a new partner. I lost track of it and wonder if others remember it? It was probably two years ago.

ahola · 12/07/2021 21:49

Is it rough to spoon with your bf under a duvet on the sofa while your toddler plays/watches TV in the same room?

FictionalCharacter · 12/07/2021 21:49

@cabingirl The OP came back to say the RSPCA had dropped the case, and if they got other reports within a certain period of time they’d treat it as a malicious report.

MiamiPants · 12/07/2021 21:49

Sketchy memories of the exact details. But I was gripped.

The post had an office in a building where a child had music lessons (or similar)

Each week the same dad would get a coffee and then while the child would have the lesson (or whatever) he'd shit in her (private) office toilet.

There were weekly updates with the attempts to stop him. Various signs etc.

It was great. (Not for the OP of course.)

Catsrus · 12/07/2021 21:52

@Iwouldlikesomecake

Catlady wasn’t CatThiefKeith. She had MiniCatlady and a horrible ex.

I often think of TrickyTreeLou.

I often think of @TrickyTreeLou too - and wonder how "our" Adam is doing. I remember the MN thread waiting for him to be born.

Lots of people thought she was a troll and she was given a hard time because her story was so dramatic. Sometimes real life is dramatic 🤷🏼‍♀️
