To take an iPad to a Nice Meal on Sunday?

Football related, obviously.

We've got a very fancy day planned on sunday.

It's not changeable.

We will most likely be eating at kick off time, not quite sure of timings.

Even it we're not eating at that time, we're at the table till 9.30.

Wibu to take some means of watching the game?

I'm sure many of the other people in the room will have some means of following the game, so it would be impossible to hide from any scoring. I think it'd be impossible to just record it and watch it at home at 10.30ish.

We'll be discreet as possible, and obviously not the only people at the meal interested.

Wibu?

Incredibly rude. I'd have complained had I been there.

Kanaloa · 12/07/2021 18:53

I mean it doesn't sound like a great day though. I couldn't be bothered paying all that money and getting dressed up, just to sit on an iPad. I'm very surprised everyone except one table was watching laptops/phones.

MarshaBradyo · 12/07/2021 18:57

I’m surprised so many were watching

Maybe it’s due to length of train ride but still may as well watch at home

It really was a great day!

4.5 hour journey with sparkkibg brunch and catch up with dear friends who we haven't seen much during covid.

3 hours in a lovely town just bimbling around, sight seeing and a sit down in lovely eatery (drinks only though)

Then a presentation.

Back to train by 4ish, then 3ish hours slow lovely meal with champagne, then about an hour of the match, everyone seemed content to be watching.

Then back to car, missed the Italian goal. Back to friends in time for extra time and a Nice Cup of Tea.

Only downside of the day was suede sandals and mizzle while walking have caused me sore toes Sad

@Jk987

It's gone very quiet from all those who told you it was inappropriate and rude haha
Yes, I was thinking that, then a few turned up.

Nevermind, it was my experience and was all fine.

The Grand Day out enhanced the football, and the football enhanced the Grand Day out.

🥰

I knew it’d all be fine Op!

MN is another world sometimes.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 13/07/2021 14:12

Why are people surprised when there are differing opinions on MN? We aren’t all clones, and we don’t have to agree blindly with every OP.

Jk987 · 13/07/2021 15:18

Diverse opinions are welcome and expected. It was the way people were so outraged as if it was the worst thing in the world! It was a very significant and one off footy match after all...

Hopdathelf · 13/07/2021 15:21

It was a very significant and one off footy match after all...

Makes me chuckle when I see this type of comment. If you genuinely think it’s a one off you don’t have much faith in your team.

well, no .... they're not all that good are they? haven't been any good for decades. The Euro final was a one off.

I'm glad OP watched and enjoyed. As she said, it was her experience and she enjoyed it.

Lots of busy bodies around these days (checks mirror)
