I’m WFH and just taking my lunch so thought I’d also whip the bin out. As I do, a car crawls past and then reverses into our parking spot. (It’s our private spot and has our number sprayed in it as well as a sign saying ‘Private parking for number 30’) A woman gets out so I said “Excuse me, sorry you can’t park there” she looks and me and just wanders off up the street.

I mean, I get she might not have realised (although the sign is big and prominent) but to be told and then still walk off without moving - the cheek.

I was a bit taken aback if I’m honest so went back in the house and then I thought, no sod this and I went and knocked on the door of the house she went in, I waited a bit but no one answered!

I wouldn’t mind as such if someone was quickly dropping something off but she’s obviously stopping for a bit. The annoying thing too is the house she’s gone in has a driveway and there’s room for this visitor on it. So I’m a bit to why she’s parked in our private bay.

Grrr, I can’t keep knocking as going back to work (WFH) in a bit, so would I be unreasonable to just block her in with my car? I feel like I need to make a point

If there are things certain in life I guess it’s death, taxes and CF Parkers.. 😂😂 so true.

My OH has parking spaces - and yes we block people in when they park in them!

My own CF neighbour used my driveway for access regularly (2 driveways up next to each other) when he chose which of his 2 vehicles he would be driving that day so I’ve started parking across the end of my driveway to stop him doing so - first time I parked like that it was purely accidental but he literally sat in his car revving his engine, slammed his car doors, muttered something ridiculous and generally made a bit of a scene so here we are! I love seeing him mess about swapping his cars over now!!

Top tip for future OP. Walk past while videoing. You can then take a screengrab from the video that will be loads clearer than a zoomed pic

For future reference OP you can buy metal posts that screw into the ground that you fold down with a key when you need to park but they stop other CFs using your space.

I was actually thinking about this but was put off by the installation. I’m wondering whether we could get someone to install them, then it’s definitely an option

I hate to be a Debbie Downer about this but that note, it’s just too long, it’s like a chapter from War And Peace. Notes left on cars should be snappy and to the point - “Stop parking like a twat, the whole estate thinks you are a cock” or “Dozy dickhead, learn to park properly”

If you could pass this onto the author of the note should you find out who it is I would be most grateful.

Whilst I wouldn’t block her in in your scenario (firstly because it’s too much effort, but mainly because I hate confrontation) I 100% think you should if you are prepared for the confrontation.. it is your property, just like a persons driveway is! I used to be in a similar situation when someone parked in my allocated space, I blocked them in and left a note letting them know they are in my parking space and they can find me at # …. I then let my husband answer the door when they came knocking! 😝
