I’m WFH and just taking my lunch so thought I’d also whip the bin out. As I do, a car crawls past and then reverses into our parking spot. (It’s our private spot and has our number sprayed in it as well as a sign saying ‘Private parking for number 30’) A woman gets out so I said “Excuse me, sorry you can’t park there” she looks and me and just wanders off up the street.

I mean, I get she might not have realised (although the sign is big and prominent) but to be told and then still walk off without moving - the cheek.

I was a bit taken aback if I’m honest so went back in the house and then I thought, no sod this and I went and knocked on the door of the house she went in, I waited a bit but no one answered!

I wouldn’t mind as such if someone was quickly dropping something off but she’s obviously stopping for a bit. The annoying thing too is the house she’s gone in has a driveway and there’s room for this visitor on it. So I’m a bit Confused to why she’s parked in our private bay.

Grrr, I can’t keep knocking as going back to work (WFH) in a bit, so would I be unreasonable to just block her in with my car? Blush I feel like I need to make a point Grin

@WutheringBites

I doubt anyone would complain about a Dr using their space for an urgent visit, but in the main, you should find a suitable parking space. Yes it's less convenient, but I don't think a Dr automatically has priority over any other busy professional, or indeed busy tradesperson, or member of the public with commitments

MegaCityOne · 06/07/2021 07:44

@Scaredycat87

Op you were wfh yesterday? No wonder so many employers went there employees back in. You posted dozens of posts pretty much every single out of the day. This thread must have been either your entire focus or a best case - massive distraction

(Finally wrapping up gone midnight!)

👩‍⚖️🩲 oh look, Judge E Pants has shown up to tell you off without know anything about hour WFH circumstances.
awaywiththefae · 06/07/2021 07:52

I can confirm nice neighbours car has gone, I assume he’s gone to work as it’s not in his space. CF neighbours car is still in the road but it looks like it has a note on it! I am tempted to just pop a coat on and go and read it, it looks like a big square of white paper but obviously can’t read it from here 😊

Go and read the note and report back!

It really doesn’t take long to write and post a post. Just so you know I attended two meetings yesterday, had one impromptu call, answered all my emails and crossed all my tasks off my to do list.

In the office I might have been in the queue in the coffee shop, chatting to colleagues, stretching my legs, instead of being on MN.

(Finally wrapping up gone midnight!)

I hate to break it to you but after half 6 to midnight, I wasn’t working, it was my free time to do with as I want 🤭

This is all cf’s fault not yours! How do people do this and think they can get away with it!

EnjoyingTheSilence · 06/07/2021 08:09

Can you not report cf car for being in the middle of the road? What a twat!

crowsfeet57 · 06/07/2021 08:13

Thing is if you don't clamp down on it the minute it happens, you end up like me and in a decade long parking war

This 100% and I speak from bitter experience!

seen it all now🤦‍♀️

MaMaD1990 · 06/07/2021 08:16

This has been a thrilling 15 minute read. Absolutely hilarious. Your nice neighbour, in my eyes, is a hero!

PuffItsGone · 06/07/2021 08:22

So if you go out for the day can I use your house?

PuffItsGone · 06/07/2021 08:23

Whoops that was @Crankley who clearly believes in communal property

awaywiththefae · 06/07/2021 08:29

Ok, so I popped out (looking slightly homeless) and tried to take a photo of the note. I didn’t want to get too close with the camera in case anyone was watching so I snapped from a distance and massively zoomed in. The pic is really bad it’s just grainy/blurry!

So I thought I’d just stroll past and try and have a read, the writing has run a bit as it’s been raining but I could make out ‘I don’t know who you’re visiting…’ 😬 ‘do not park here again in future…’ ‘blocking the way for emergency vehicles…’ ‘I have reported this’ words to that affect, as I’m just remembering the words.

I was tempted then to do a closer snap of the note but their neighbour came out the front door and so I did a very conspicuous turn and walked slowly back 😬

I wish I had time to try and read it all but CF neighbours neighbour ruined it all 🤣 I bet he saw me craning my head over the back of the car, awkward!

Brilliant! Hope your CF neighbours are suitable embarrassed and are a bit more considerate in future.

Mummyoflittledragon · 06/07/2021 08:44

Oh dear. This thread is brilliant! Hopefully they will think again about visitors parking in your spots. Cheeky fuckers!

HaveringWavering · 06/07/2021 08:45

So, curiouser and curiouser- sounds like the note was not written by Nice Neighbour along the lines of “I parked over your drive because your visitor parked in my space, hope you have learned your lesson”

But instead by a THIRD neighbour who (unsurprisingly) objected to a massive Qashqai in the middle of the road but Disney know the history (hence “I don’t know who you are visiting”). Please ask Nice Neighbour for an update when he gets home this eve!

HaveringWavering · 06/07/2021 08:46

Disney?! Doesn’t. (This is good but I don’t think it’s quite likely to be turned into a film Grin)

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 06/07/2021 08:47

I hope I'm not being too outing here, but my moles inform me that CF neighbour actually has a holiday home in China.

Congressdingo · 06/07/2021 09:01

@SunshineCake

Some people don't want their drives parked on to limit damage from oil spills or you know, the humungous weight of the car they were made to withstand Hmm.
Some people paid actual money to buy a house with a drive so that when they and their family get home they dont have to park on the road/hunt for space/carry shopping from 3 streets away with a pushchair and baby too. If I make a meal for the family I don't generally hand it out to strangers, when I run a bath I dont invite the neighbours to use the water after me, when I water my plants I dont also water next doors, when I stick a wash load in the machine I dont ask the next passing person if they want to put their clothes in too. Why, is it because I'm mean, tight and ugly? Or because I bloody paid for these things, you want a drive. You buy a house with one, you want clean clothes, you buy a washer etc.
Hoppinggreen · 06/07/2021 09:01

@MaMelon

Anyone else doubting @WutheringBites ‘s claims to being a Doctor? 🤔

Yep.

When they claimed to be seeing patients face to face I was pretty sure they weren’t an actual Doctor
