I am fascinated by accents. I love an east London accent but not Essex - and for lots of people outside the UK those might sound similar.

I like a Scottish accent but not a posh Scottish accent - Robert Carlyle but not Ewan McGregor.

Hate English RP.

I'm Glaswegian and Bobby Carlyle is my ultimate man. Luckily DH bears more than a passing resemblance to him!

For me it is always the Northern Irish, hands down. Didn't realise it was so popular!

South London, French, southern Irish, Cornish. Quite like Welsh. Am completely turned off by some others. Funny, isn't it? But the biggest turn on is someone who, along with a sexy accent, is friendly and intelligent my French neighbour, phwoar!

I feel bad saying this because I love the spirit of the average Australian (bit of annoying stereotyping thrown in first to compound matters) but I don't love the Australian accent. I think a very very very mild oz accent can be ok but on the whole, no. I don't know why this is though

The thing for me that rules out Australian is the upward inflection. Now, it might not be quite as prevalent and quite as bad as Master Chef Au gives the impression of, but even if it's a fraction of that, I couldn't stand it. I do listen to the contestant speak with a degree of wonder though, the ability to put rising inflections on every word in a sentence, then a sudden drop at the end, is quite something.
