Just that really.

I like a Scottish or an Irish accent on a man!

OP posts:
BrownEyedGirl80 · 04/07/2021 21:17

Southern Irish.
Geordie.

Least sexy.
Brummie.
Devon.
Scottish.

Zparks · 04/07/2021 22:01

Irish
Yorkshire
Jamaican

Also Brummie Blush

My own accent is RP but weirdly I can’t stand it on men!

wordsareveryunnecessary · 04/07/2021 22:04

Scottish. Like Neil Oliver

RolloTomassi · 04/07/2021 23:06

Sexiest to me is Queen's English spoken in a deep voice.

My all-time fave accent is South African, could listen to it all day.

Wbeezer · 04/07/2021 23:22

Well, I'm Scottush and Glaswegian is my last favourite, it can be too whiny and nasal. Various Glaswegian actors' "posh phone voice" version of their native accent can be acceptable, just.
Lots of people hear a strong Scottish accent and assume its Glaswegian, often its not. A rather annoying colleague of DHs in London kept introducing him to people as being from Glasgow, he's never lived anywhere the place!
Myself, I like an Irish accent, or even a Welsh accent, Northern English too (but not Scouse) however posh English accents leave me unmoved.

Wbeezer · 04/07/2021 23:25

Scottish not Scottush Blush

Dontsayyouloveme · 04/07/2021 23:41

BillyShears Gary Barlow has a Cheshire accent. Think Liam Gallagher for a manc accent!! Still sexy? 😁

miltonj · 05/07/2021 05:35

Gotta be Irish. Not like Louis Walsh though, more like Colin Farrell

TeddingtonTrashbag · 05/07/2021 06:05

Not Gaswegian! Whiny and nasal as others have said.

Classica · 05/07/2021 11:28

So given the choice between someone who looked like Colin but sounded like Louis and someone who looked like Louis but had Colin's accent, who would you pick? Grin
CupOfTPlease · 05/07/2021 11:29

Australian, mainly the ones with a nice tan, surfer type with blonde curly hair.

Not that specific at all really Grin.

ThePearlOfDumbarton · 05/07/2021 13:41

@classica interesting. I would have thought louis had the nicer accent. Colin sounds very typical dubliner to me. I believe he had a fairly privileged upbringing but his accent is very flat.
Louis is more neutral, not exactly sure where louis is from. I prefer that.

ThePearlOfDumbarton · 05/07/2021 13:43

I speak like Craig Doyle but there's no trail of male admirers queueing up behind me! Boo hoo!

notthemum · 05/07/2021 13:45

Welsh.

Lookingoutside · 05/07/2021 13:46

Irish ☘️ 🥰

ThePearlOfDumbarton · 05/07/2021 13:46

Just googled, Louis Walsh is from Mayo so he has a soft west of ireland accent.
As an Irish person, to my ear, it's infinitely easier on the ear than colin farrell's accent but we are all different I know.

SirenSays · 05/07/2021 16:36

Scottish, scouse, Yorkshire or Southern US for men.

Spanish, Italian or Australian for women 😍

SwimBaby · 05/07/2021 16:42

South Aftican.

SwimBaby · 05/07/2021 16:42

South African

knackeredcat · 05/07/2021 16:49

Nice to see so much love for NI accents - formerly from the "leafy" South Belfast parish Grin

My OH's South Yorkshire accent sounds better to me than those around me (West Yorkshire), but he's got a deep voice which invariably helps. I find a deep voice on a man attractive more than the accent, I suppose, unless it sounds a bit "off" or put on. Someone like Russell Crowe wouldn't sound so good if his voice wasn't deep.

RP women always sound fabulous a la Joanna Lumley.

Baileyscheesecake · 05/07/2021 17:51

Geordie male accent - wye aye man! Don’t know why this does it for me but makes me go weak at the knees. Could listen to it for hours tho’ sadly I don’t come into contact with it very often - just an occasional call centre advisor when I do whatever possible to make the call last longer!!! 😀

Cam22 · 05/07/2021 18:00

Northern Irish
Irish
Yorkshire
Manc

Maybe it's just the man, not the accent in that case Wink
miltonj · 05/07/2021 18:17

@Classica 😂Colin every time, of course.

lynsey91 · 05/07/2021 18:26

French followed by Italian.

I don't find any UK accent sexy and particularly dislike the Irish accent. Not keen on Scottish much either
