To ask if nose piercings on men are naff

Because my 20 year old ds is getting one tomorrow and I can't talk him.out of it.
Opinions pls.

I think they look bloody awful on anyone. I used to have one and it has left a scar on the side of my nose, which will never go away sadly.

depends on his overall look. in principle, its fine, not like a tattoo thats difficult to remove.

Did he get it done?

OP....does your son have a say on what you put on or in your body?

If he doesn't get an opinion on..say..what contraception you use for you vagina...I'd probably stay out of his nose.

If he does have any say on your vagina I want nothing more to do with this ever.

As long as he’s only piercing his own nose and not yours too I really don’t see how it’s your business. I couldn’t give a crap if my kids do this type of thing as long as it was done safely by someone who knows what they’re doing.

It definitely depends on the person's overall look and lifestyle, If they are very "conventional" it might look odd with a suit and short back and sides in the office, if however they are say in a more artistic job, like to dress unusually etc it can look good. It's up to anyone to make their own choice what they get pierced anyway, regardless of their style.

It doesn't. You blow your nose quite normally and the products leave your nostril as usual.

Nose rings are a good thing, all piercings/tattoos are. Let people be themselves, there's no need to police identity.

Hi sorry for delay. He didn't get it done as he is meant to be going away end of July and he was advised that it has to kept dry for around 8 weeks.

I think they're horrible on everyone, but that's my view an others are entitled to a different one.

At 20 he can do what he likes and at least it will close up when he gets fed up of it.

I can't imagine his mum telling him it's naff will change his mind.

I'm not keen on them but to each his own.

At least it's temporary if he wants it to be.

They're revolting and I see nothing wrong with you telling him that bluntly. Of course it's his decision but I doubt the world will stop turning because a mum tells her offspring that they don't like a particular look

I think it depends on the person. I think my DP would look ridiculous with one but my two tattooed brothers in their twenties look great with theirs!
