Looks like we might need a new thread.

@ResIpsaLoquiturInterAlia obv not carried on with other peoples' spouses! Just dating generally. But they didn't do that, let alone hook up with some else's man/woman, which takes it to a whole new level.

jgw1 · 26/06/2021 16:41

@Clavinova

The rules are OK to break if you only break them a little bit? Is that OK?

Perhaps yes - with an apology. Everyone I know has broken the rules/guidelines a little bit. I didn't hug my parents earlier in the year for their own safety and neither did my siblings - we don't regret that choice because of Matt Hancock.

Really?
vinicunca · 26/06/2021 16:42

Why hasn’t he resigned yet? This is outrageous. Who the hell is advising him? Does he actually think he can just lie low over the weekend and this will all be yesterday’s news by Monday?

Everywhere I go people are talking about this. The man is an utter joke. There is no way in hell he’ll be able to stand in front if any type of audience ever again, let alone in a ministerial role.

Obviously Boris can’t sack him as this would be the pot calling the kettle black, but what is stopping him resigning? He must be utterly delusional.

Tanith · 26/06/2021 16:44

“ Fewer than half of all people think he should go. That's what your figures say but you twist it to look like a majority.”

No; the poll you refer to is Yougov, so fewer than half of the people they asked for a response think he should go.

I saw a poll this morning that had 98% of respondents voting for him to go.

Polls are pretty meaningless, really. Easily gamed, easily manipulated.

Figmentofmyimagination · 26/06/2021 16:45

It’s amazing how tribal some posters have become, thanks to Brexit. Literally, if a politician backed Brexit, they can do no wrong - the complete suspension of moral judgment or, it seems, even ordinary political judgment, just because these people enabled the holy grail of leaving the European Union. Clavinova is a perfect example of this, although he or she probably can’t even see it.

Quite bizarre.

Now I am really laughing... you really don't get it Clavinova.

YOU aren't telling me what I can and can't do. YOU aren't telling me I can't see my DCs for months on end. YOU aren't telling me that when I do see them I can't hug them and we have to freeze sat outside. So what you do is not my business.

Matt Hancock is the one telling us all this. And he is the one out of everyone in this country, who should be abiding by those rules and be whiter than white.
He, of all people, should not be breaking the rules 'just a little bit'.

Clearly he is delusional. His boss has said he is useless, as everyone knows he is, and yet he maintains he can still do the job.
Wilkolampshade · 26/06/2021 16:51

@Roussette yes, my DD too. One long term relationship ended horribly and a second, wonderful one very much in the balance as they cope with travel restrictions (bf lives abroad).
Her and her peers have tried so hard in all this, now wondering why?

EleanorOlephantisjustfine · 26/06/2021 16:51

@Marcipex

Slimy little berk.
I agree what the hell does she see in him. Posh Tory mummy’s boy. He has as much sex appeal as a plant. Such a cliche of a mid life crisis. I feel sorry for his wife.

Indeed! I am angry on behalf of all those who
had to put their love lives on hold being conscientious while some in position of “authority and trust” doing their upmost to be the polar opposite of their rules for others. Many relationships (normal not extra martial) were therefore “unnecessarily” put on hold! Many personal wellbeing sacrifices done for country to save lives and livelihoods.

vinicunca · 26/06/2021 16:53

What kind of country are we? Look at the disingenuous filth we have at the helm. How have we stopped so low as this? God help us.

A PM who is so morally bankrupt he can’t even acknowledge the existence of some of his own children!

Look at many dead-beat dads are reported every day on this very forum. Yes, they may well be crap parents, but at least we don’t have many (any)? denying that their children even exist!

Yet here is the PM doing exactly that!

He is an utter disgrace.

And now this pallid-faced tosser who pretended to believe in Brexit just to get a top job. Fool of the highest order.

Fools the lot of them. Bugger off and leave us alone.

Roussette · 26/06/2021 16:54

Just on T&T again, cronyism and the waste of £37Billion

"Boris Johnson's £37BILLION Test & Trace service, run by Dido Harding & using private firms Serco & Deloitte, has lost track of 550 MILLION COVID tests & failed to reach nearly 100,000 people who had tested positive, failing to identify their contacts"

NeverDropYourMoonCup · 26/06/2021 16:56

Two threads+ on this?

For Heaven's sake, what has Boris/the others done or has come out this week that needed to be drowned out by over 2000 posts about yet another Tory's sexual incontinence?

ProfessionalWeirdo · 26/06/2021 16:56

@TheoMeo

I wonder who will replace him?
Personally I think his job is safe - simply because nobody else wants it.
Clavinova · 26/06/2021 16:56

Roussette
Now I am really laughing.

Not everyone agrees with you on this matter according to the polls. They don't vote in general elections or referendums the way you want them to either - no matter how many times you've stamped your feet and laughed at them.

shallIswim · 26/06/2021 16:57

Why don't these Tory wives do what the rest of us would do and ditch the b@stard?

Roussette · 26/06/2021 16:57

@Wilkolampshade

Oh i get it, it's been really hard on this age group. My DD met someone in January, they pussyfooted around trying to meet in parks in freezing weather and so far it is carrying on. Maybe it's a go-er! Someone broke her heart a couple of years ago, it really affected her badly, so who knows.

Hope your DD's r/ship works out!

Roussette · 26/06/2021 16:59

@Stonelovelace
I do Twitter quite a bit. Haven't seen anything yet.
Just hints that the Handjob story isn't finished

DP was contacted by track and trace as a contact of someone who had tested positive.
Which was interesting since the day they were meant to have been in contact DP had not left the house, so unless one can get covid through a wall from the neighbours sheep...
Why don't these Tory wives do what the rest of us would do and ditch the b@stard?
Not that I'm spouse-blaming! But I'm old enough to remember all those politicians wives from the Back to Basics era who stood by their cheating men

Roussette · 26/06/2021 17:01

Clavinova Errmm.... it was you actually I was really laughing at.

Saying it was OK to break the rules a little bit.

Roussette · 26/06/2021 17:01

Sorry... saying that it was OK for Matt Hancock to break the rules 'a little it'

vinicunca · 26/06/2021 17:03

Surely the wife will leave him?

Matt Hancock broke the rules with his little bit?
