Looks like we might need a new thread.

I wonder if Boris will send him out to ' do a briefing ' next week just for the hell of it?
You want to stay on, now face the 🎶!
That would be one I'd tune into just to see him squirm a bit more.

Clavinova · 26/06/2021 17:06

Clavinova Errmm.... it was you actually I was really laughing at.
Saying it was OK to break the rules a little bit.

I expect most people have broken the rules a little bit.

I expect most people have broken the rules a little bit.

The first Tory MP has said he should resign and a Tory former Secretary of State has said they would have done in his position.

Are they wrong?

Roussette · 26/06/2021 17:09

Maybe they have. Maybe they haven't. But as I've said a zillion times, those that have, are not the ones telling us what to do. Not sure why I have to keep repeating that.

Matt Hancock is.

Blossomtoes · 26/06/2021 17:09

@vinicunca

Surely the wife will leave him?
Maybe. Maybe not. Tory wives tend to stand by their man.
vinicunca · 26/06/2021 17:09

I’m surprised a public demonstration isn’t being organised via Twitter or whatever to get him out?

Snog · 26/06/2021 17:10

I don't believe that most people have broken the rules a little bit - but even if this were true, Matt Hancock is not "most people" he is the Health Secretary and that is the whole point.

the80sweregreat · 26/06/2021 17:12

@vinicunca

Loads of people on Twitter are calling for his head. Won't make any difference Lbc had people ringing in defending him last night too. I can't see him going personally.

Would you agree that the police should immediately start the task of going round checking that those who they have fined for breaking the rules a little bit want to mutter some half arsed apology in order to have their money back?
Roussette · 26/06/2021 17:13

this made me laugh....

Martha:

“Matt! What the hell is this on the front page? You’ve been having an affair!”

Matt: “Well, I’m not going to dignify that frankly ridiculous question with a response, & you should watch your tone.

The vaccine rollout has been fantastic, & I’m very proud of that.”

Clavinova · 26/06/2021 17:15

But as I've said a zillion times, those that have, are not the ones telling us what to do. Not sure why I have to keep repeating that.

And I have said that I'm undecided whether he should resign or not.

Have any couples meeting up been fined?

vinicunca · 26/06/2021 17:17

The audacity. How dare he not have resigned yet.

I need them all gone. They are bad for my mental health. I can’t bear even looking at them anymore.

vinicunca · 26/06/2021 17:20

Get rid of that imbecile Gavin Williamson while we’re at it. It’s like the bloody muppet show.

Roussette · 26/06/2021 17:20

Interesting...

Firstly #SackMatt is trending a lot on Twitter

Secondly, it's said the footage was only released yesterday to distract from the missing 600million tests from track and trace.

www.theguardian.com/society/2021/jun/25/almost-600m-nhs-home-covid-tests-unaccounted-for-auditors-reveal

Dead cat time.

Unsurprising

vinicunca · 26/06/2021 17:21

And the perma-smirk PP.

tenredthings · 26/06/2021 17:22

It's scripted. He was always going to be the scapegoat. They've softened the blow to him by making him out to be sexually attractive ( to someone ) No outrage over nursing homes or billions given to his mates for PPE but now he's snogged someone we're all outraged Hmm

Roussette · 26/06/2021 17:22

And I have said that I'm undecided whether he should resign or not

And what would push you over the line of 'should resign'?

That it's more than a snog and they've been conducting a proper affair for months?
Because that's the likely scenario

Wheresmybiscuit3 · 26/06/2021 17:23

I think politics here needs some kind of reform. The vast majority seem useless.

Clavinova · 26/06/2021 17:24

And what would push you over the line of 'should resign'?

I have already answered that question.

chipsandgin · 26/06/2021 17:25

Fucking hell he looks like an experienced 12 year old boy who has heard about kissing and is trying it for the first time - literally the most unsexy ‘tryst’ of all time (& that’s aside from the morally bankrupt, hypocritical pathetic act itself).

He always looks so clammy. She looks like a fairly attractive woman (the cheating again aside, obviously not a very nice woman, but she surely could have done better than that if she’d decided to play away, she must be so embarrassed!) & he’s just a bland, slimy clearly inept in every way, forgettable grubby little man. The whole thing is baffling tbh - and watching makes the video makes you feel like scrubbing your eyes, just bleurggh…

Wheresmybiscuit3 · 26/06/2021 17:26

Sorry, the vast majority seem useless except to line their own pockets and their mates.

chipsandgin · 26/06/2021 17:27

& I wonder what else the government are saving for the moments they fuck up more spectacularly than usual…”ooh look over there..” 🙄

DrSbaitso · 26/06/2021 17:29

@Clavinova

I expect most people have broken the rules a little bit.

Most people aren't the Health Secretary.
