Looks like we might need a new thread.

He was found to have acted unlawfully by not releasing contracts for scrutiny. That good enough? No? What counts as sufficiently corrupt?

He was found to have acted unlawfully because he was in charge of the department who failed to release details of the contracts on time - because they were under pressure due to their massively increased workload during the pandemic and having to take on new staff who were inexperienced - an excuse but not a defence. Even the judge stated that the court case could have been avoided if the Secretary of State (i.e. Matt Hancock) had candidly explained what had happened to cause the delays and undertaken to publish the outstanding CANs within a specified reasonable period. That's not corruption - unless we are suggesting that dozens/hundreds of civil servants are 'in on it' as well? The judge also put part of the blame on the Good Law Project for "consistently putting the case higher than was warranted."

Any other Government, any other PM and he would have been toast. It’s depressing how far we have sunk.

Taliskerskye · 25/06/2021 20:13

If DC could get away with it, then so can he.
I can’t see a relative in a care home,
But yes, ok to get your cock sucked in work time
Twat.

Give it 3 months he’s out on his ear. On to a lucrative job - he will give no fucks

Againstmachine · 25/06/2021 20:15

I'm still of opinion that Hancock will be sacrilegal lamb in the inquiries

ReadySalt · 25/06/2021 20:15

He is another scumbag.

There wont be an inquiry.

Turkeys don't vote for xmas.

VeniVidiWeeWee · 25/06/2021 20:19

@Againstmachine

sacrilegal lamb

What's one of those?

Bluethrough · 25/06/2021 20:20

I wonder if he found Gina Coladangelo inexperienced?

LemonRoses · 25/06/2021 20:21

The real sadness is many people don’t care about the total lack of integrity shown by our cabinet. They almost respect the corruption and self serving stance.

Againstmachine · 25/06/2021 20:24

*sacrilegal lamb

What's one of those?*

You know what I meant dont be a dick like Matt Hancock.

Clavinova · 25/06/2021 20:27

I wonder if he found Gina Coladangelo inexperienced?

Apparently not -

Gina has over 20 years’ experience in communications and marketing, with a particular focus on healthcare, retail and the environment. Her experience in healthcare communications is wide-ranging, providing strategic counsel and communications support for NHS trusts, healthcare agencies, professional bodies, patient groups and charities...

Wonder if I can put that on my CV too.

See I don't swallow the idea that the problems were due to inexperience. This is the government of the UK are we really meant to believe their is no talent in the UK?

Agreed. It's Cummings all over again.

I assume it's been leaked as he's been designated as the person to be thrown under the bus instead of Johnson. So he will have to go eventually. They don't half cling on these days though.

I agree. Wouldn’t be half surprised if BJ himself was behind it. Such convenient timing for him isn’t it?

Bluethrough · 25/06/2021 20:36

Is she? communications director in her husbands fashion brand and director/shareholder in a lobbying firm.....

Worthy pursuits, no doubt but i couldn't find any particular focus on health, though your link is from her employer :)

She is also a life long friend of Hancock, which i'm sure had nothing to do with her appointment.

frumpety · 25/06/2021 20:37

Be interesting to hear the actual details of her experience of strategic counsel ( ticks a box on bullshit bingo ) and communication support for NHS trusts, do they give any details at all about what that actually involved ?

Clavinova · 25/06/2021 20:37

See I don't swallow the idea that the problems were due to inexperience.

Are you suggesting that the DHSC witness (civil servant, not Matt Hancock) lied in court?

Againstmachine · 25/06/2021 20:40

See I don't swallow the idea that the problems were due to inexperience.

I'm not sure swallowing was the problem 😂

Only the other day, when questioned about Cummings's allegations, Matt Hancock said

"Well I don't know about you, but I'm far to busy for this. I've been busy saving lives."

I laughed at the time. And now......GrinGrinGrinAngryAngry

Saving lives, or creating lives?
