Looks like we might need a new thread.

MH next to the woman is hilarious, I've seen it before, it's like he's never seen a woman before!

He is deeply unsexy, god knows how that woman could snog or do more with him

I remember this

Roussette · 26/06/2021 11:12

It's Matt Hancock doing a pretty good imitation of Woody from Toy Story

jgw1 · 26/06/2021 11:13

@Figmentofmyimagination

I’m more interested in understanding what qualifications she had to be a non exec director at the department of health - apart from student radio, being hancock’s Uni chum at oxford and being married to someone very wealthy.

Shame for him that the press are ‘all over it like a tramp on chips’ again. Utterly vile, venal man, with form for handing out patronage to his friends. It’s like something from the 15th century.

This is a man whose only claim to work experience is at his mum and dad’s direct mail business - shrink wrapping all the free junk that comes through your letter box. He always was an over-promoted twat.

The qualifications you have listed are surely more than enough? I mean what qualifications or competence does he have to be Health Secretary?
Chrysanthemum5 · 26/06/2021 11:14

I don't understand people saying that his affair partner must be in on it. She looks to be ok with the kiss just a bit wary in case they get seen. Plus why would she set him up? The theories seem to be she's done it to protect her family's dodgy contracts. But is that reasonable? Her family are already wealthy and her husband is wealthy so what does she gain?

I suspect the simplest explanation is true he's fancied her since they were at uni, got her a job in his office, and they've had a bit of an affair. Given Johnson's proclivities he can't sack him for that.

Notonthestairs · 26/06/2021 11:14

They look awkward because they are married people conducting an affair in work time with people outside the office.

Id imagine CCTV is pretty standard for security reasons. And a lowly minion saw an opportunity to make some cash.

I'd don't think it's any more complicated than that.

the80sweregreat · 26/06/2021 11:15

So someone knows who leaked this, but nothing will be done about it?
The same as nothing will be done about all the money that went to contracts for Ginas friends and family either. Millionaires lining their pockets.
He can't know about the cameras. That's my take on it. Or just ' forgot' they were there?
Which tells you a lot about him!

Roussette · 26/06/2021 11:15

On LBC this morning...
Matt Hancock is a 'superb Health Secretary,' and he shouldn't be made resign for the current scandal he is embroiled in, ex-Health Minister Edwina Currie claims.

That's a bit rich coming from the Minister who had an affair with John Major, PM. Hmm

the80sweregreat · 26/06/2021 11:17

Edwina Currie : scraping the barrels there eh?
Who better to defend a cheater than the ones who have previous form for it whilst preaching ' family values' to the rest of us to follow.
Hypocrites the lot of them.

bollihigh · 26/06/2021 11:20

The Ken Clarke twitter whilst very funny is a parody account though! Maybe Spamcock could repurpose the liason as a work-related intimacy test event to see if hugging could be re-opened safely.

Grazia has all the goss...

SophieB100 · 26/06/2021 11:21

Of course he should resign.

I posted months ago that he would be set up to be the fall guy. Boris doesn't care, he's more than happy for Hancock to go.

Inside job - they want him out.

Sooner he goes the better, if they think they can stick him on a podium at a briefing letting him tell us what we can and can't do, and how he's breaking every sinew to save the NHS/lives/etc., they're more out of touch than ever.

He's a rotten apple in a bag full of rotten apples...bloody disgrace.

bollihigh · 26/06/2021 11:22

Susan Sarandon could play Martha Hancock in the movie version.

Nothing like the same.

The whole of the media industry would collapse if sources started to be named. Believe me, we really don’t want to start going there if we want a free press.

Roussette · 26/06/2021 11:27

If I hear the 'straining every sinew' ever again, I swear I am turning to drink.

It was one of the pathetic phrases he used continually.

bitheby · 26/06/2021 11:28

Don't forget that Matt Hancock ALWAYS looks awkward. Remember that creepy video with a colleague outside the hospital?

bollihigh · 26/06/2021 11:28

My money's on common knowledge in the Private Office staff - with a level of disgust amongst some, and an opportunistic tech-savvy youngster saw their chance to blow him up with . Remember that tweet when a disgruntled employee hijacked the official civil service Twitter account. Like Clive Ponting, if they get found out no jury will convict and they may be set up as the mole who roared.

"Arrogant and offensive. Can you imagine having to work with these truth twisters?"

Tanith · 26/06/2021 11:28

I suppose they could be trying to deflect from the ARIA secrecy row?

Oh yes. Remember it well. It still pops up even today on Twitter. It was about 'truth twisters' or something.

bollihigh · 26/06/2021 11:33

Memo to ITV re-hire Piers Morgan your country needs you ! And Hancock needs to drop the ukulele it's not a good look for a serious politician.

He was indeed "straining every sinew", though, it just didn't mean what we thought it did. Confused Grin
MapleMay11 · 26/06/2021 11:35

Batley and Spen on 1st July. The narrative their is that is is a part of the red wall, but only just. Will this have an impact?

It's been a Labour since 1992. To lose that seat would be devastating for the Labour party and for Starmer in particular.

Tanith · 26/06/2021 11:36

The same site says there are quite a few Ginas lurking in the wings...

www.opendemocracy.net/en/dark-money-investigations/at-least-16-tory-supporters-given-paid-independent-roles-in-government/

And that, Lucinda, is what is meant by Sleaze.

Not the sordid grope behind the filing cabinet.

It's the security risks, the cash for questions, the lies on oath, the subversion and manipulation of Government bodies, the corruption, the giving away of billions of taxpayers money and rewards to donors, family and friends, the asset-stripping. That is political sleaze, as I'm sure you well know!

Whoarethewho · 26/06/2021 11:38

Both are married so as bad as each other. If he should or shouldn't go then it shouldn't be because of this.

Roussette · 26/06/2021 11:38

PicsinRed

Yes, wrong sinew!

God, he's a twat. So earnest and pompous and behind closed doors a cheat, and liar.

Face, Space, Arse.

Well... you showed absolute disgust with Neil Ferguson seeing his lover during lockdown... he said he should resign, and the Police should be involved.
Come on then Little matty... show us what you're made of...

Backhills · 26/06/2021 11:39

What I want to know most is how that video got out.

We have CCTV where I work and there are huge restrictions on what you can and can't use it for and how it can be accessed and who by. Really heads need to roll there.

I think his position is untenable when he's been crying on TV about not being able to hug his mother (or whatever it was) but I'm not going to make a moral judgement about the affair, knowing nothing whatsoever about his personal situation.

LucindaT73 · 26/06/2021 11:41

Incredibly naive of you to think this.

There is no CCTV that are there without people's knowledge, as you claim because the fall out for the country could be massive.

Confidential documents could be read and all sorts.

The biggest issue is not the kiss or the alleged affair, but the risk that someone has bugged the corridors of Westminster and breached security.

MH and his behaviour is small fry compared to the risks of bugging.
