AIBU to be utterly peed off that another one of our Ministers - rather than devoting his time and effort to getting the country out of this mess - is busy carrying on with an aide (which he appointed at great expense to the tax payer) - aaaaaaag.

Bet his wives and girlfriends were sick to the back teeth of hearing it...

TurquoiseLemur · 25/06/2021 17:13

@MrsBunHat

Urgh fgs. Is “incompetent love rat” an actual requirement to run the country?

What I don’t get though is why Hancock didn’t do a massive flounce and resign at the “fucking useless” text, I mean how humiliating. How can he carry on working with Boris at all after that.

I have to admit I kind of love Cummings with his evil/nonchalant expression, big bag of evidence and slow-drip destruction. If he was in a novel he’d be too OTT.

Cummings was more than happy to work with Johnson, Hancock etc until 6 months ago. Happy to lie with them and for them. Happy to break lockdown while everybody else in the country could be arrested and charged for doing so. Happy to have a generous salary AND a very nice salary increase (while many people were losing their jobs, struggling to get the rent paid, etc etc)

Hancock and Johnson are snakes. So is Cummings.

SpindleWhorl · 25/06/2021 17:13

I wouldn't be at all surprised if Johnson still had contact with Cummings as part of some tangled web.

Peachee · 25/06/2021 17:18

Nope YANBU, just another deceitful, greedy, liar with no morals running our country.. it’s what they do best though right??

LoveMySituation · 25/06/2021 17:19

Johnson also said 'the matters closed' after Cummings' Barnard Castle eye test. For someone who studied Classics, he doesn't seem to knowp many wordsGrin

Peachee · 25/06/2021 17:20

Also, defo a government set up to get rid of Hancock.. boris has done nothing but slag him off to others the last few weeks..

Bananamilkshakes21 · 25/06/2021 17:20

I categorically hope that MH digs his heels in and sticks with the job and part of me thinks this is why his wife is still wearing her wedding ring because I would be too in her situation.

The media and some other people somewhere have waged a campaign against this man for months. It’s reminiscent of the way Harry was treated.

Some areas of the press and whoever else decided he wasn’t liked and every single day there were vile, negative headlines printed effective forcing him out.

It was the same for Brexit…vile scaremongering headlines, biased reporting etc, demonising people for their views.

Something at the heart of the establishment and media in this country is very rotten and sinister.

If MH has broken the rules at work which I’m sure he has he should be investigated. But accepting this personal story and his family as collateral damage in a cynical attempt to push him out is the latest in a series of completely undemocratic events that are happening in this country.

I have no sympathy for the man it’s his own fault but I feel desperately sad for his wife and family.

In the end nobody cares if he’s having an affair…his wife might even have known about it and accepted it…what I care about is that somebody is clearly trying to push him out and I am getting sick of being ruled by the media and other hidden entities in this country who think they can print nasty, bullying stories to get the outcome they want.

It’s actually quite terrifying.

Againstmachine · 25/06/2021 17:21

Ah and now Ginas brother has won a string of NHS contracts you couldn't make this up more scandal.

I know, right? I reckon Jeremy Corbyn feels the same ...

@LightasaBreeze

I hope it wasn't before May 17th when he deemed hugging was allowed
It was 6th May, so before 17th May when hugs allowed. He apologised for breaking "the guidance" - his own rules which he insisted everyone else should follow.

Why would you? Just out of interest. Putting on a facade of 'all is fine, please note my wedding ring' would be the furthest thing from my mind.

Lilibet2022 · 25/06/2021 17:24

I have to admit I kind of love Cummings with his evil/nonchalant expression, big bag of evidence and slow-drip destruction. If he was in a novel he’d be too OTT.

And yet despite all the glaring evidence warning Boris that delaying lock downs would cost thousands of lives the slime all was more than happy to keep working for fellow slimeballs as long as the wageslip kept landing on the door mat. If the man had any remorse he'd have stood up and said something when it counted not now he's been dumped and is just bitter.
He's not that clever really just kept his receipts because he always planned on taking others down with him once they got rid of him.

MarshaBradyo · 25/06/2021 17:24

Banana you make good points, it’s very trial by gutter press.

ToTheLetter01 · 25/06/2021 17:27

What I don't get is BJ saying the matter is closed. How many more times doesn't this moron need to screw up to be fired or asked to resign!? I just do not get it.

Permanentlygrumpy · 25/06/2021 17:27

Yet people still vote for the Tories despite the lies, the corruption and the nepotism. Confused

Madcats · 25/06/2021 17:27

I've always puzzled at MH's choice of tie. Does he ever wear ties that aren't pink? Does he have loads of the things, or do you think he has dry cleaners on speed dial if he goes for a curry after work.

I feel sure something big is being swept under the carpet this weekend (which would have been the first weekend of freedom if they hadn't postponed it for a month).

looptheloopinahulahoop · 25/06/2021 17:29

I really couldn't get het up about what he gets up to in his private life and I am sure he and she were working very hard, never saw their other halves and well, you know. However, he knows as health secretary there's a target on his back and he's a complete idiot to give the media and hypocrites ammunition to get at him. Twit.

Skyla2005 · 25/06/2021 17:30

It's his wife and Kids I feel for. And her husband and kids.

Bananamilkshakes21 · 25/06/2021 17:31

It’s the principle…they’ve been after him for weeks and have now thrown her and her kids under the bus to get what they want.

Whoever ‘they’ are…they are undermining democracy in this country, influencing politics in the worst way, and this sort of thing needs to stop.

Things are getting increasingly corrupt and dirty from what I can see….

I’d stand up to the bullies first out of principle and deal with him later.

Notonthestairs · 25/06/2021 17:32

Christ - Hancock has handed out contracts to cronies, been found to have acted unlawfully, by his own admission not followed guidance that he issued, either began an affair with a junior or employed someone he was already having an affair with and did it on work time thus compromising himself and his staff.
He really doesn't deserve sympathy.

PeridotPenelope · 25/06/2021 17:34

Some time after 19 July, there will be a ‘restructure’. It will be a new phase of our COVID management plan requiring fresh pairs of eyes. Without Hancock.

Hope he enjoys his holiday in Cornwall. It will be his last as Health Secretary for sure if he hasn’t gone by then.

Myothercarisalsoshit · 25/06/2021 17:34

@MarshaBradyo

Banana you make good points, it’s very trial by gutter press.
But it's OK when it's: Michael Foot Jeremy Corbyn Diane Abbot Ed Milliband And on and on and on and on ... Some people only call them the 'gutter press' when it suits them ...

ScribblyBaller · 25/06/2021 17:35

Yeah, Hancock has been up to his neck in dodgy contracts. His next door neighbour, his sister, now possibly his lover's brother. My sympathy is non-existent.
