AIBU to be utterly peed off that another one of our Ministers - rather than devoting his time and effort to getting the country out of this mess - is busy carrying on with an aide (which he appointed at great expense to the tax payer) - aaaaaaag.

I'm amazed he has a wife that wants to do the sex with him, let alone a mistress too.

OverTheRubicon · 25/06/2021 16:52

@Keyring

I abhor the curtain twitching that we go in for in this country. And also the holier than thou attitude. People do have affairs. All the time. Men and women. It's always happened and it always will happen.

Like others, couldn't care less about his private life; I do care about how his conduct impacts his public life/job.

Absolutely. Which is why it is unacceptable that he hired her at a cost to the taxpayer of £20k a year for 20 odd days work, and then snogged her on work time. Even worse that all his staff knew and had a joke name for it - what kind of crap management is that?

I wouldn't care if he'd been shagging a non-employee in the evenings.

I think the most likely theory is that Boris wants rid of Matt Hancock as hiring a new Health Sec will give them an excuse to kick the Adult Social Care bill into the long grass.

@LoveMySituation

If it's Cummings, how? He's not been around there since November last year, and the footage is from May. I think it's Bozo. The timing doesn't seem a coincidence, just after Cummings exposed the text about Johnson thinking Hancock was useless, suddenly there's something to make his position even more uncomfortable. It's typical gutless Boris, he can't sack him, so is hoping he'd leave with his tail between his legs. Wasn't there that committee a while ago that had a leak, and there were only four people there, and the only one whose phone wasn't checked was Boris's. I suspected him then, and now, how else would the sun get CCTV from a private office?
You could be on to something, there. How would Cummings get footage from Whitehall security cameras and then pass it to the Sun?

Maybe this is a deliberate leak. Johnson is currently standing by his man to make it look like it's nowt to do with him. More will come out, and Johnson will then sorrowfully be "forced" to sack Hancock.

OR the whole thing has been leaked in order to distract from some other ordure that is about to hit the fan.

Either way I smell fishiness. Or maybe my tinfoil hat is crooked today

SpindleWhorl · 25/06/2021 16:57

I did wonder if there'd be PPE or Health contracts involved somewhere ... and lo and behold.

AgnesNaismith · 25/06/2021 16:57

@Keyring and your arguments for why she shouldn’t get what she rightly deserves for splitting up with her cheating, lying, scumbag husband after pledging her future to him are?

Also…if you’re not interested in reading about it….why are you on the thread at all?

Flumpaphone · 25/06/2021 16:58

Thanks @SpindleWhorl

The problem is I now have an annoying ear worm

ScribblyBaller · 25/06/2021 16:59

I hope Sky News with their 'scoop' on the brother's NHS contracts credit @SW1amp and her sleuthing Grin

unwuthering · 25/06/2021 16:59

Oh my, Boris considers the matter closed! Bizarroworld.

I think this is a good theory.
AgnesNaismith · 25/06/2021 16:59

Also it was definitely Boris the buffoon It is obviously the reason for his rude interruption when talking to the Queen because he thought Matt might get some empathy from the public. Either that or he thinks she might say something she shouldn’t. Whichever the reason, what a twat.

kofiban · 25/06/2021 17:00

I hate the way he says "the matter is closed" like he's talking to small children. It might be closed for you mate but it's not for most people!

I never said she shouldn't get what she "rightly deserves". I think you're missing the nuance of my argument.

I am interested in having the debate about his conduct and his job/position/public life.

let's stop being so judgmental.

Indeed.
IheartJKR · 25/06/2021 17:02

It’s rarely about looks though is it?

I’m sure MH has been suffering from a big dollop of hubris lately. The excitement, the self importance….close contact with each other. Maybe one of them always held a torch. Fucking idiots the pair of them.

Bluethrough · 25/06/2021 17:03

How about this, why don't we keep our noses out of it and let him and his wife sort it out...

He is a public figure, if he wanted privacy - stop screwing around?

He should resign now, no way can he do his job and deal with his matrimonial affairs plus he is a laughing stock now, no one will take him seriously, if they ever did.

TheoMeo · 25/06/2021 17:05

It's not to do with his marriage - it's to do with corruption at the top of Government.

TurquoiseLemur · 25/06/2021 17:05

@TheoMeo

'Poor man' - the queen's comment about MH. I agreed, poor man, such a hard job, being targetted by Boris etc OMG I hope he goes.
Of course "Poor man" could also mean "What a pitiful specimen he is!" Not sympathy but pity.

You never quite know with the Queen.

JRKismyhero · 25/06/2021 17:07

This is some kind of Olivia Pope shit, right?

Toty · 25/06/2021 17:07

Well this is all a nice distraction from Hancock and cronies illegal cash for contracts. Far worse than breaking social distancing imo. How anyone fails to see these sleezebag greedy cunts for what they are is astounding.

For goodness sake. Cummings hasn’t got his hands on CCTV footage from DHSC! Confused

It’s bloody obvious how this has leaked out

MyShoelaceIsUndone · 25/06/2021 17:11

He can’t be that stupid that he didn’t know about the security cameras! Maybe they wanted to get caught.

PerkingFaintly · 25/06/2021 17:11

Hah, I remember Johnson saying, "The matter is now closed," or "We've drawn a line and moved on," about some obvious transgression earlier in his premiership (corruption, I think).

I thought at the time: "That tripped off your tongue very lightly. Bet that's what you say every time you're caught out. And you're caught out a lot."

TheVanguardSix · 25/06/2021 17:12

It doesn't really matter how it leaked or who leaked it. But the memes are brilliant. Grin
