To hope someone can help me to remember this early 90s cartoon?

I first tried to remember this animated series about 20 years ago, and I think of it every few years but get nowhere. Googling never throws up the right programme, and you're about to realise why: I recall almost nothing about it

Here's what I recall:

CITV
Very early 90s, maybe late 80s but I'm fairly sure it's 90 something.
Theme tune reminded me of Ordinary World by Duran Duran
Animated
Set on an island/group of islands
Opening credits are an aerial view of the island (s)

It is not Charlie Chalk or Cockleshell Bay. It probably wasn't very long-lived.

I'm not holding out much hope, and appreciate that's not much to go on. Please help me to lay this to rest!

They did different seasons and this vould have been a planet or Island one?

Also Denver the last Dinosaur?

Was citv around in the 80s? Plus I don't recognise any of the mentioned programs! But then I was a teenager in the 80s and more interested in boys 🤣

I dont actually think it was the GB's but I feel like you should all have the theme tune stuck in your head like what I do.

I have had a strange mixture of Jem and Fraggle Rock in my head since yesterday, now mixed with Gummy Bears!

OP I think I vaguely remember it, but the ordinary world song was at the end, it had a different beginning song. I'm also thinking it was Japanese maybe?

I was thinking about Peter Pan and the Pirates. I remember that from the mid-90s.

Thanks for all of the suggestions - it has been fun remembering things like Pole Position and M.A.S.K that came up on some of the lists of 80s cartoons. I just can't dredge this one up.

Did anyone else have BSkyB and watched DJ Kat and Chish and Fips?

Oh, Internet says Chish n Fips was CITV (would have put money on it being on Sky).

Moomins or Portland Bill. It won't be those due to the un-Duran Duran-esque theme tunes, but they are well worth a Youtube clip.

It's very possible I have conflated two programmes. T-Bag has an epic theme tune and was on CITV...

I think our memories play tricks on us about pictures and colours etc

I remember thinking how realistic and colourful the ladybird book illustrations were and when I dug out my old copies and had some of those modern versions too they weren't a bit like the versions in my head!

20 years ago was the early 2000's! The 80s was 40 years ago.
