To hope someone can help me to remember this early 90s cartoon?

I first tried to remember this animated series about 20 years ago, and I think of it every few years but get nowhere. Googling never throws up the right programme, and you're about to realise why: I recall almost nothing about it Grin

Here's what I recall:

CITV
Very early 90s, maybe late 80s but I'm fairly sure it's 90 something.
Theme tune reminded me of Ordinary World by Duran Duran
Animated
Set on an island/group of islands
Opening credits are an aerial view of the island (s)

It is not Charlie Chalk or Cockleshell Bay. It probably wasn't very long-lived.

I'm not holding out much hope, and appreciate that's not much to go on. Please help me to lay this to rest!

I still have all my Jem Dolls!

@forpeeetssake

can you remember what sort of characters it had (e.g. humans / animals etc). I was thinking of the Biskitts as that was on an island but I'm assuming you'd have mentioned the dogs!

Also 20 years ago was definitely the late 80s Grin

I watched it in the late 80s or early 90s. Then, about 20 years ago (2000/2001), I started having nostalgic Freshers' week conversations and realised I had no idea what this programme was, and nor did anyone else.
@MargaretFraggle

Ah, brilliant, no one ever remembers the song!
Yes one of the Holograms had earrings and I think it was Connie/Constance
I had a Jem doll and loved the cartoon.

New adventures of Gilligan's island, was from the 70's I think, but could have had a re-run?

ItRainedForever · 22/06/2021 22:10

I definitely remember that Peter Pan cartoon being on TV.

WhySoSensitive · 22/06/2021 22:13

I have no idea but I feel committed to knowing what this mystery programme is 😂

Toomuchspinning · 22/06/2021 22:15

The Wildthornberries? That might be too late.

MedusasBadHairDay · 22/06/2021 22:16

LordFoofingtonismyMaster · 22/06/2021 22:27

I also have nothing to add but this has been a lovely trip down memory lane.

NoIDontWatchLoveIsland · 22/06/2021 22:28

I've got the day off tomorrow, I'm gonna find the Smoggies and watch it with DS

NoIDontWatchLoveIsland · 22/06/2021 22:29

Oh my god without my pants.

Are you saying it in an aussie accent inside your head

MessedOfTimes · 22/06/2021 22:38

I can’t stop saying without my pants without my pants

Also...it’s great for blowing out candles 😂

toomanyhobbies · 22/06/2021 22:48

On Reddit your posts/comments can be voted up or down, which forms a kind of "score" (called karma) which is attached to your username.

When you first join you'll have a score of 0 because you haven't done anything yet. Most subreddits won't let you post new threads until you have a certain level of karma, this is to prevent trolls signing up and spamming the boards. You can easily build up some karma by commenting on other people's threads though. So if you want to ask on tipofmytongue you should just look for some subreddit you're interested in and join in commenting on threads. Then after a day or two you'll be able to post in that forum if you want to.

Peter Pan and the Pirates was definitely aired on UK TV. We had a few episodes that we'd taped direct directly from the TV onto VHS. It was only of my absolute favourites.

Blufandango · 22/06/2021 23:02

Stopit and Tidytdup? Penny Crayon?

Blufandango · 22/06/2021 23:04

This is the kind of thread that MN excels in Grin I'm surprised no-one has cracked it yet!

I was going to suggest Smoggies but I was a CBBC gal during weekdays but forayed into C4 morning cartoons (like Smoggies and California Dreams) but just wanted to say the because someone mentioned it - the theme tune to Prince Valiant was out of this world!! 🙌🏾 TUNE 🙌🏾

PrinnyPree · 22/06/2021 23:44

The Magic Adventures of Mumfie? Very daytime and twee or Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors which had an awesome intro. Grin

Catforaheadrest · 22/06/2021 23:46

What on Earth did my parents make me watch??

I was born 1987, so should have been watching this telly, but I don’t recognise anything that most posters are suggesting!!

Apart from Talespin. Was that the adventuring chipmunks?
