For me it's Morning Fresh. I thought it was shite a decade ago. Bought it again recently and it is still crap. It doesn't lather and my usual Aldi own brand is far superior. How on earth has it survived this long?

Hotel Chocolate- cheap plastic tasting garbage in excessive packaging.

Nespresso stores- it feels so pretentious queueing to buy your capsules, the coffee is good but the whole concept just makes me feel sleazy and a bit new money / chav. They really try to create the feeling of a superior product and boutique experience but it just aggravates me. I should buy a proper coffee machine but I hate the sight of them and the last thing I’d want is for my kitchen to look like a Costa 🤢

PickAChew · 14/06/2021 23:47

I just chucked a 5 year old pair of Nike because I'd worn through the soles.

White stuff is awful quality for the price. None of their stuff that I've had has washed well.

TableFlowerss · 14/06/2021 23:51

We were regifted a bottle of plonk worth about £50. Proper posh.

We gobbled up our tea, necked the wine and I couldn’t have told you the difference between it and a £5 bottle of wine!!

JewelGarden · 14/06/2021 23:52

@Meme69 yes! They've had me questioning my pelvic floor or wondering why my vagina is so massive because they basically try to fall out, awful things.

TheUnquestionedAnswer · 14/06/2021 23:58

@IveNameChangedAgain2020

Dyson anything. I bought a hot/cool fan which an Argos fan at £19.99 outperforms.

Badedas bubble bath. Was posh when I was growing up and I bought it for sentimental value a few months ago. Bathing in fairy liquid would have been a step up.

I use Badedas all the time and I don't think it's changed over the years, still same great smell and it foams nicely.
floppybit · 14/06/2021 23:58

@JewelGarden @Meme69 oh god yes, all these years I thought it was just me and they were falling out because I've got a massive fanny!

IveNameChangedAgain2020 · 15/06/2021 00:01

@Chocolateemergency sure - bought last year and now it's cheaper! 😂

https://www.argos.co.uk/product/4569846

I had it on all day whilst wfh. I actually bought it for my teenage son as his room is extra warm for some reason.

Dyson was £550 and it's just a noisy piece of *

Aargh! Completely agree about tampax... they go long and thin and poke out! Dreadful things. I first used one 40 years ago (at age 13) and they’re still as bad now.
Lilletts or various own brands are much better.

PickAChew · 15/06/2021 00:06

I used to like tampax because they went long and thin. Much more comfortable for me.

Gembie · 15/06/2021 00:07

I always found it mad that everyone buys Richmond sausages…they have the lowest meat content legally allowed for a sausage and are rank.

However their meat free sausages are ace (I’m vegetarian) Weird or what?

ChunkyKitKat123 · 15/06/2021 00:21

Not exactly premium but I have no idea why Next stuff is considered good. The clothes are flimsy, lots of synthetic materials, frumpy. The furniture is of the IKEA type.
The prices just don't match the very average to poor quality.

M&S food...Both the fresh food and ready meals are exactly the same as stuff from the cheaper supermarkets, just nicer packaging.

stackemhigh · 15/06/2021 00:26

@SticksAndStoned

I wouldn't class morning fresh as premium.

It's a brand, yes, but it has always been cheap.

I also had a hard time believing MF is a ‘premium brand’ Confused

Yes, so frumpy!
FaceyRomford · 15/06/2021 00:51

M&S Food except the fruit & veg which is always top quality. The rest is overpriced, of average quality at best and in very small portions.

earthyfire · 15/06/2021 00:54

Shark hoover I have one and I hate it, so heavy, too many bits and pieces and a nightmare to empty.

I've noticed Heinz beans are very watery lately too.

Kicker shoes, don't last like they used to.

RicherThanYew · 15/06/2021 01:13

This one is niche but sod it. Knitpro crochet hooks with swarovski crystals. Now don't get me twisted because they are beautiful to look at and they came in a gorgeous presentation box but eurgh they split every fucking yarn that I've tried to crochet and every project has been ruined. I'm furious as they cost a fortune for what they are and the set was a Christmas gift from my beloved in laws Angry

helpmebeanadult · 15/06/2021 01:23

Bought my OH a Ralph Lauren hoodie in lockdown. It was almost £150. It was shit quality, the arms were abnormally long and the zip did up the female way! It also did not arrive with the attractive model in it.

I would be contacting them for a refund.
Skinnytailedsquirrel · 15/06/2021 01:26

Heinz beans, premium brand. Are you having a laugh??

Skinnytailedsquirrel · 15/06/2021 01:28

Mulberry - especially their handbags. Tacky, horrid things.

Skinnytailedsquirrel · 15/06/2021 01:30

Oh pleeeaasseee Cadbury is NOT and never has been a premium brand

Skinnytailedsquirrel · 15/06/2021 01:32

and neither is Baylis and Harding. Who ever thought it was anything other than cheap hand soap?

NumberTheory · 15/06/2021 01:36

I've always thought Hotel Chocolate was cheap chocolate in "stylish" packaging that's kind of dull. If it's gone downhill recently I have a hard time imagining how people don't throw it in the bin in disgust (okay - I admit I'd never throw even cheap chocolate in the bin in disgust, but I'd be outraged at the price of it).

Another chocolate I never understood the price/positioning of is Charbonnel et Walker truffles.

I've never really understood why Swarovski crystal has the reputation/price point it does. But I like sparkly things and I'd be really annoyed if I'd paid premium for the brand and then the basic product didn't work, that's awful.
