For me it's Morning Fresh. I thought it was shite a decade ago. Bought it again recently and it is still crap. It doesn't lather and my usual Aldi own brand is far superior. How on earth has it survived this long?

Boden - that said I frequently buy tops when 20% off.
M&S food.

JewelGarden · 14/06/2021 22:55

Tampax tampons are often a struggle to get in and seem to lengthen rather than widen as they absorb which is both useless and uncomfortable.

HunterHearstHelmsley · 14/06/2021 22:56

Apple.
Dyson.

It's all good marketing.

Womendohavevaginasnick · 14/06/2021 22:57

@FrostyFruit

Nike shoes. Maybe not premium for some people but at $200 a pair in Australia they are a rip off. My boys always want them, then they fall apart within a month! Used to be way better quality when I was a teen.
Are you sure they're genuine? Mine last forever, even using for hiking and running, and the kids last well too. I've had 3 years of almost daily wear out of my last pair and passed them on when I got new. Even taken a few trips through the washer
ThePontiacBandit · 14/06/2021 23:00

Definitely agree with Clark’s shoes. I decided to take DD to an independent retailer. Slightly more expensive but far superior service and comfortable shoes that DD can wear for months until she outgrows them rather than them a. falling apart or b. Stops wearing them because they are uncomfortable!

Heinz beans. I’d always bought Heinz, DD went to my sister’s and said she preferred the beans there, could we please get them instead? Tesco own brand!

shas19 · 14/06/2021 23:01

Hellmans mayonnaise 🤢
Heinz beans, much prefer tesco 32p ones or 4 for a £1
Majority of Johnsons products, all smell powdery

CinnamonCurls · 14/06/2021 23:01

Baylis & Harding soap. Barely lathers, rubbish.

RagzReturnsRebooted · 14/06/2021 23:04

Jaffa Cakes. Dry, rubbish texture, too much sponge, horrible to eat.
Lidl own brand however, are lovely. Good ratio of sponge to jammy stuff and better chocolate coating. Ditto Aldi and a few others.

Tetley tea. Weak shite.

PattyPan · 14/06/2021 23:09

Hotel chocolat was my thought too. Never heard of morning fresh.

Are you in a hard water area @CinnamonCurls? We have B&H soap and live close to an old chalk mine so I thought our water was pretty hard but don’t have a problem with the lather. I agree it’s not premium though, got an orangey one at the moment and the scent is quite cheap.

OnTheBoardwalk · 14/06/2021 23:10

@Marmite27

Heinz beans. DC had them on a meal at a play gym the other day and I honestly thought they were the cheapest of cheap beans.
This!

Branson are so much better

Cheeseandlobster · 14/06/2021 23:14

@JewelGarden

Hotel Chocolat I used to love but I'm not sure it's all that nice now. The alcohol ones are barely edible the alcohol is so strong in them.
I agree. I had some last year and it tastes so cheap. Very disappointing 😞

I have never understood why they do this. It's almost like they start to work their way out as soon as a bit of blood touches them. I use a menstrual cup now but otherwise it was lilets or similar all the way.

SecondCityShark · 14/06/2021 23:16

Dyson. I hate my Dyson hoover. Big, unwieldy, gets blocked if something bigger than a millimeter gets sucks sucked up it, needs emptying every five minutes. I hate hate hate it.

Also Hunter wellies since they changed their manufacturing. Cheapo ebay wellies have outlasted them by quite a way.

Wincarnis · 14/06/2021 23:16

Another vote for Boden. Over priced, garish, horrible fabrics.

HelloBunny · 14/06/2021 23:17

I often see designer duds in TK Maxx (I don’t shop on Sloane Street) & marvel at how badly made / nasty material they are... (Stella McCartney, I’m looking at you).

DerbyshireMama · 14/06/2021 23:19

Louis Vuitton. I know nobody has thought it was "classy" for a good 10 years but it just looks sooo trashy and clearly people are still paying hundreds for it.

Goldieloxx · 14/06/2021 23:20

Dyson

lalafafa · 14/06/2021 23:23

TKMAXX and any designer outlet. All the garments are made of inferior fabrics, they’re not overruns of genuine items. TKMAXX buy out small labels and mass produce them.

MrsAvocet · 14/06/2021 23:24

I agree with Heinz beans. The beans are hard ant the sauce is watery. Branston are best in my opinion, though I usually buy Tesco at 4 for £1 as they are perfectly acceptable.
I'm also not a Clarks fan. Maybe they were good at one point in time, I don't know, but if they were, they are definitely trading on an outdated reputation now. If they were less money I'd say they were cheap and nasty, but I'll have to settle for just nasty. I'd rather pay more for a really good brand but if I couldn't afford to, I'd buy cheap and cheerful and change shoes very frequently rather than stretch my budget for Clarks and try to make them last.

FizzyPink · 14/06/2021 23:26

Definitely Dyson hoovers. My parents think their £500 one is amazing. It’s shit. My £100 Henry is better

PersonaNonGarter · 14/06/2021 23:31

Champion, Stone Island and North Face.

DS aspires to these brands but urgh the static and general cheap quality.

mumulala · 14/06/2021 23:34

Agree Dyson - so high maintenance needing to constantly take it apart and rinse out small parts that take a week to dry then the battery gives you a whole half hour to catch up on a weeks vacuuming. Grrr, have bought unbranded spare filter and battery now. Up yours, Dyson

Pandora as well, nice jewellery but I don't get the snobbery in the shop, or the high price tag. I got "told off" in there for having non Pandora charms. Like Pandora charms don't lose their stones or something. Get over yourselves

Lindt Lindor whatever. Really cheap tasting chocolate with cheap greasy fillings. I went a bit nuts at the pick n mix in the outlet because I wanted to try different flavours, and it was so expensive. Some of the flavours were nicer but they all liquefied as soon as the temperature rose a little (having been told that good chocolate shouldn't be kept in fridge) and had to be consumed through a straw. They are mostly oil

bringincrazyback · 14/06/2021 23:39

M&S chocolate. Just yuck.
Chanel No 5. Is it just me or does it smell more like an old lady's dressing table than anything else? I don't get it.
And Joe Browns clothes. Overpriced, shoddy quality in my experience.

Chocolateemergency · 14/06/2021 23:40

@IveNameChangedAgain2020 I’m on the hunt for a new fan. Don’t suppose you’d be willing to share the link to your cheap one?

Gingerkittykat · 14/06/2021 23:40

@CinnamonCurls

Baylis & Harding soap. Barely lathers, rubbish.
A few years ago Baylis and Harding was a Poundland brand. I bought a bottle of their hand wash then and was unimpressed, I have no idea how they have managed to rebrand into the mainstream market.

Hellman's mayonnaise. I bought some recently and found it really watery compared to shops own brand.

Heinz tomato soup, I used to swear by it and then bought Tesco own brand which was pretty much identical.
