To think dd should save half of her wages?

Dd14 has her first summer job. She earns about at least 150 a week (175 will be the max in the height of summer!)

I think she should be saving at least 50 a week if not half,
Dh disagrees and says to leave her be. She's only 14. She will be babysitting most weekends though so she will earn a bit more with that!

Aibu? Wwyd?

I don’t think the savings idea is bad - but if she’s got lots of money anyway even with the savings she won’t know its value at this age.
Better to as pp said let her spend it all (if she’s so inclined) and see how she likes not having any left

Also to add kids who are naturally inclined to save will do so anyway.
Your daughter’s got a job at 14 + babysitting so she can’t be that irresponsible can she? She knows where the money comes from, it’s not just being handed to her
When I started earning at uni I suddenly become a lot more frugal, every penny was my blood sweat and tears 😂
