To ask you to tell me what's good in lidl?

For the first time in about 2ish years (mostly due to the pandemic and shielding) I am going to be near a lidl tomorrow for an appointment and I'm already looking forward to a cookie and a warm cheese straw from the bakery 🤤

As its been so long I am wondering if there are any special secret items that I should get to try? Open to food, cleaning and other items as its been so long since I was there. I remenber the wash liquid was always a decent price and the butter ring biscuits were always melt in the mouth as they were my dad's faves.

I'm disappointed with our local supermarket deliveries (Asda and Sainsbury's, haven't been able to book a Tesco slot since feb) and paying more for less and less (and increasingly poor quality /poor dates) so ready for a change.

Thank you

Cooked, sliced meats. Cheeses. Some of the cakes and chocolate biscuits. Anything from the in-store bakery.

Bakery and a lot of the sweets

zeromango · 09/06/2021 00:24

Jazz apples

I have only recently discovered how good Lidl's cheese selection is. I have their brie in my fridge at the moment

Other good things I have found:

Lime and elderflower fizzy drink, Tropical fruit fizzy drink.
Tiger bread as long as it hadn't been breathed on.
The posher yogurts they sell, all fruit flavours.
Jelly beans, not the sour ones. They are awesome and I can make myself feel sick eating a whole bag at once.

Tinned cherry tomatoes
Greek yogurt
Creme fraiche
The orange cheese, has a hint of blue cheese
Pea shoots, despite living surrounded by pea crops it's the only local supermarket that sells them
Suddenly perfume
Dog food
The middle, I've had some really nice clothes from there, currently got their linen range in
Their version of Viakal
Coffee pods

I love Lidl.

@cherrytree63 I've got Suddenly as well :)

I like their fresh bread, cheese, jarred black olives, steam meals in the freezer section, flowers, microwave quinoa/rice, melon, frozen fish, crazy about their ginger shots.

@HoldingTheDoor

The brownies they sell in the bakery are amazing.
Aren't they?! Just how a brownie should be. My OH buys me one every week in the weekly shop. Yum.
