To tell you how I feel now I’ve lost 5 stone (some content that’s a bit rank so don’t open if squeamish or pregnant and nauseous etc)

This is SO indulgent. Sorry Blush

I still have another 3 to go so I’m still quite big. But as the weather has finally got warmer here’s some stuff that I’ve noticed:

I used to get a cheesey sort of thing under my belly. I had to shower twice every day without fail or this STANK. Now I still shower at least once a day but I choose to: I don’t have to because of this revolting thing.

I have so much more choice with clothes. Last summer I wore black leggings and baggy t shirts. Now I can wear bright summer colours and not feel self conscious.

My back isn’t as fat.

I don’t feel embarrassed to have my photo taken with my children. I definitely still look plump but I don’t avoid the camera and I ask DH to take photos of us.

I got a job, after thinking no one would employ me.

I don’t look scruffy any more. I’m not saying all big people do. I know some look very elegant; but I never did.

I’m losing motivation so add yours!

Well done! Five stone is amazing!have you weighed out five stone of books or something in your bathroom scales to give a sense of what that looks like? That'd be cool!

It's amazing what losing a bit of your weight can do for your health. Well done!!

Babbly · 30/05/2021 20:13

Congratulations! I lost weight too so I can add some.

  1. It doesn't hurt any more to do simple things like walking or lifting.
  2. I feel full or empty and there's a difference between them
  3. I can see where my muscles and bones are and different parts of my body have different shapes and feel different to touch.
  4. My feet don't hurt all the time from carrying my weight.
  5. My skin is so much healthier and glowing.
  6. My hair looks longer and dangles around me instead of getting stuck on my wide body.
fat13 · 30/05/2021 20:27

These are amazing! Yeah, I love standing on the scales with an unsuspecting DC and seeing I’m still less than I was! And they’re heavy (well not really but you know!)

I have about three stone I'd like to lose, so reading for inspiration Smile

Lagomaggiore · 30/05/2021 20:34

How did you do it OP?

fat13 · 30/05/2021 20:38

I did Exante - it isn’t for everyone but I couldn’t stick to a conventional diet!

OP posts:
Lemons1571 · 30/05/2021 20:44

You’re doing the same as me OP! I also used to get the under belly aroma. I’ve done meal replacement and mfp, 6.5 st down 1.5 st to go.

I can walk at a pace without getting puffed and panting, and feeling destroyed the next day.

I can wear clothes ive kept from circa 1996 Grin

I can cross my legs properly

There’s a choice of clothes on the racks for me, rather than having to search the whole shop to find the one size 20 they still have in stock.

I can fit on rollercoasters.

A downside is not being able to shave my arm pits, as they are now too inset, instead of fat and accessible!

I did meal replacement and mfp, and I eat barely any solids apart from a really small dinner padded out with lots of salad.

blahblahfootballblah · 30/05/2021 20:45

Well done op that's amazing. I've got 9 to lose and I don't know where to start. Don't lose your motivation and end up where I am!

fat13 · 30/05/2021 20:45

6.5 is incredible!!

OP posts:
AtoZed · 30/05/2021 20:46

Well done!!

TheChild · 30/05/2021 20:48

Well done, losing weight and not feeling self conscious anymore is fantastic!

I've lost nearly 9 stone and I am enjoying buying new clothes, having pride in my appearance and don't feel self conscious or like I have to apologise just for existing. As much as I want to go back to my old ways and eat whatever I want, I know I can't because I cannot go back to the person I was.

Good luck with the rest of your weightloss 😊

RainHailSnow · 30/05/2021 20:51

Oh wow well done! Everything you said that’s changes I identified with especially the feeling scruffy, not taking pictures with DC and no job. I’m your “before” still. Similar overall weight not lose around 8 stone. Can’t seem to get started. How did you find the exante?

DailyFailstinks · 30/05/2021 20:53

Also following this thread for inspiration. I have a lot to lose and could do with the motivation.

UpsyDaisysarmpit · 30/05/2021 20:53

Currently on Exante and almost 2st lost so far, in 6 weeks. Thank you for this post, reminding me of all the plusses to losing several stones (I have about 7-8st to lose altogether, ideally).

UpsyDaisysarmpit · 30/05/2021 20:54

@RainHailSnow I recommend Exante Smile.

fat13 · 30/05/2021 20:54

rainhonestly it took years for me to start. I don’t know if I’ll be able to get all the way down ... hope so.

AFS1 · 30/05/2021 20:59

*off to google exante...!

Amazing OP. I’ve got 6 stone to lose. Now the weather is getting warmer, I’m so annoyed at myself I didn’t stick at a diet when I first intended to in January. I’m dreading the heatwave.

Cleopatras · 30/05/2021 21:00

Congratulations everyone on your fantastic weight loss Smile. I have 8 stone to lose so am also following this thread for inspiration. I was wondering did you all also exercise or was your weight loss solely due to diet changes?

fat13 · 30/05/2021 21:01

@AFS1

*off to google exante...!

Amazing OP. I’ve got 6 stone to lose. Now the weather is getting warmer, I’m so annoyed at myself I didn’t stick at a diet when I first intended to in January. I’m dreading the heatwave.

I did that for 2016, 17, 18, 19 and 20, so don’t feel bad! Think how amazing you’ll look by Christmas. Besides I’m not all the way down.
OP posts:
fat13 · 30/05/2021 21:01

I have done a lot of walking but nothing outside this - might start now.

OP posts:
RainHailSnow · 30/05/2021 21:02

I’ve just looked it up a bit more. It’s basically the 800 cal diet that a lot of doctors back now for reverse diabetes (I don’t have but more luck than anything!)

How long did it take you to lose 5 stone OP?

upsydaisy wow 2st in 6 weeks??

Anyhow finished it and how much it as regained, if anything, when starting to eat real good again. Also how hard is it to not eat real food?? I like my food.

fat13 · 30/05/2021 21:03

It’s been pretty much a stone a month, but I didn’t actually start this diet till February. I lost weight in January when not well and used that to kick start me!

Well done! Life changing eh.
I lost 7 1/2 stone on Exante & have maintained for around 2 years now.
I can now run up & down stairs without having to take a step at a time.
I go to the gym
Can go into any shop & buy clothes
I'm in so many photos & don't mind being caught unawares.
I feel like a weight had been lifted from my mind as well as my body.
I have confidence, I learned to drive, got a new job.
Life has improved for my whole family, we are active & outdoors now.
Go for it folks. Xx

FannyFifer · 30/05/2021 21:06

I lost 7 1/2 stone in 10 months. 👍

EveningOverRooftops · 30/05/2021 21:06

I’ve lost 44lbs so far and still lost a little whilst recovering for surgery too 💪🏼💪🏼

Ok some silly and some amazing things I’ve noticed.

  1. my orgasms are amazing now. I’m single but damn if I had more free time and a bloke Grin
  2. none of the trousers I wear give me camel toe now. Seriously it was with every pair Blush
  3. I still sweat but my back sweat patch when it’s hot looks like everyone else’s not like some alien has pressed it’s face on my back started to melt.
  4. I can shave my legs all the way around.
  5. it’s so much easier to get the head hair out of my butt crack that inevitably gets stuck there during a shower.
  6. I’m not as tired all the damn time.
  7. cleavage that doesn’t feel like a bog witch lives there.
