To think William and Kate are currently over exposed

Why do we need to keep seeing them everywhere? The more I see them trying to convey their perfect Boden lives the more I find it irritating. I think their PR people seem to have gone into overdrive

Pre covid William and Kate did a few visits to my area that were only in the local papers.

I don’t believe this. Every appearance by William and Kate results in about 200 photos in the Daily Mail.

And as for Kate’s smile, of course she needs to look happy and positive when attending events. If she turned up scowling and looking glum then she would be derided.

@anon12345678901

I don't see them everywhere, now Harry on the other hand, then again he loves chats with Oprah 😂
Groan he's having another one on Friday

That'll be wall to wall everywhere for weeks.

@greenandpinkbudgie

Why do you dislike them so much ? I don't dislike them personally because I don't know them. What I find annoying really is the fake aren't we perfect type thing, like today's overly smiling I'm so loved up photos and also the lack of acknowledgement of their own immense privilege. I wouldn't rush to see them but I suppose if it brings other people happiness then fair enough, but like I said I feel like the PR campaign has gone into overdrive lately.
lack of acknowledgement of their own immense privilege

Really? They both bring this up frequently in Zoom calls to charities when they couldn't get out and about. They know they come from a place of privilege and use it for the furtherment of others. They know their presence creates a profile of charities, which in turn creates a footfall to websites, increases awareness, volunteering, fundraising.

It's obvious you dont like them, but to project how you think they feel is very wrong. BTW you might think you're a 'serf', but that's down to your low self esteem.

Clearly you don't like them,

BananaBoatFeet · 27/05/2021 05:40

I’m happy to keep up with what they’re doing.

The gruesome twosome in the other hand. No thank you.

TroysMammy · 27/05/2021 06:18

The RF like everyone else has been in lockdown since last year. This is what the RF do, visiting charities, places etc and they haven't been doing as many overseas visits like they used to. Of course we are "getting back to normal" and that includes the RF, so no, I wouldn't say they were over exposed at all.

LunaLula83 · 27/05/2021 06:22

They're touring Scotland hun. When any of the royals go on tour, it tends to get reported on the news.

camperqueen54 · 27/05/2021 06:24

Nope I don't see them at all but then I probably don't read crap.

I believe it - loads of stuff by the working royals goes unreported.

And that includes loads of the official Government and constitutional stuff the Queen/PoW does, the full visits to worthy causes in dull places, most of what they do with their patronages (only the big ones with eyecatching events and press facilities generate coverage), the unfashionable causes etc

Prince William was there to Her Majesty at a formal session of the Church of Scotland - that's the sort of visit that usually gets zero coverage. And it still gets little coverage, but at least people are mentioning in amongst the slew of critical posts about them swanning off again

THisbackwithavengeance · 27/05/2021 06:28

Yes, they are very privileged and have lovely lives.

But so do very many people who are less well known. I know of someone who is married to a multi millionaire (inherited "old" money) and does nothing other than shop, lunch, go to the gym, go on holiday and generally suit herself (my friend used to nanny for her).

Why resent the RF over the multitude of other people who have inherited or married into wealth/privilege and haven't worked for it?

I think they are a likeable couple who do a good job and like someone said up thread, don't moan about it.

FannyCann · 27/05/2021 06:55

Isn't it half term next week? I expect they'll have a week off with the children after their tour this week. That should give you a break. And who knows, they might still be doing work on their week off. I expect there's quite a lot of reading around and getting up to speed with their various charities and interests that they have to do in preparation for any visit. And there'll probably be some more fall out from the next mental health programme in California to discuss with the family and advisors.

lollipoprainbow · 27/05/2021 07:14

Yes they are and it's all a PR stunt to pit them against M and H. The daily mail are the worst at their nasty thinly veiled articles and the comments section beggars belief!!

I doubt it's a PR stunt. I think the tabloids come up with tuff like this all by themselves
lollipoprainbow · 27/05/2021 07:24

Ah yes St Andrews University where she orchestrated herself to snare William encouraged by her pushy mother and was slated in the press for it ! Now she's everything that's wonderful. And please stop saying they work it's hardly a job that they do is it ? Duty more like.

pilates · 27/05/2021 07:27

All I see is a lovely young couple supporting Granny.

tenlittlecygnets · 27/05/2021 07:33

@greenandpinkbudgie - also the lack of acknowledgement of their own immense privilege

What exactly would you like them to do to acknowledge their privilege?? And which royal has ever done that?

ICanSmellSummerComing · 27/05/2021 07:39

The problem with Kate is and she's great obviously, great for William, solid family but what has happened to her where she can really relate to people in their day to day lives or suffering?

I think that's the difference? A human connection but I can't see how Kate has one, everything is pretty perfect in her life?
William has been traumatized with his mum so at least there people will have some link if they have lost people, parents had tricky divorce and so on.
I'm just not feeling these zoom calls from Kate or the sympathy with nurses.

HOkieCOkie · 27/05/2021 07:40

I think they are fine I’ll like to see them out n about. Better then his bothers antics.

ICanSmellSummerComing · 27/05/2021 07:43
  • I don't feel resentful that they have this life at all, it just doesn't feel that Kate is relatable, her own background is pretty solid, no divorce, family breakdown, trauma,poverty.. Which is fantastic for her but I just can't see how she bridges that gap that's all.
ICanSmellSummerComing · 27/05/2021 07:44

Harry and Megan are way more relateable with far more life experience.

Oh do give over with the nasty, jealous stuff! I think they do a great job and the children are beautiful; especially feisty Charlotte. Give me more!
KarmaNoMore · 27/05/2021 07:48

I bet that all this over exposure of William and Kate while no coverage of Camila and Charles is intended to profile them as the next reigning couple.

I’m sure the Queen will step down from public duties in the next year or so and Charles is not going to replace her, at least not for long.

MarinPrime · 27/05/2021 07:51

A lot of people like looking at them, the mail etc can tell by all the clicks they get.
If no one was interested the media wouldn't bother.

Quite how is she meant to remedy that, to suit you? It’s possible to empathise with someone without having experienced their suffering. What next? Macmillan nurses must have suffered cancer? I would like to chat to Kate, I think we would get on fine.

Whinging, self obsessed pair.
