To think William and Kate are currently over exposed

Why do we need to keep seeing them everywhere? The more I see them trying to convey their perfect Boden lives the more I find it irritating. I think their PR people seem to have gone into overdrive

SoupDragon I can't comment on them personally, they portray a public image which is probably nothing like what goes on behind closed doors, as we have seen from Harry. I'm talking about what we are being fed in PR. But fair enough, many on here haven't seen it so maybe it's just a case of looking elsewhere for news.

No I don’t , they are back to work , they are young working royals and that there job to be seen !!
They are both being very positive and thanking lots of people for there hard work over the last year.

Not sitting on Oprah’s sofa winging about how horrible there privileged life has been.

Tlollj · 26/05/2021 20:47

Well they’ve got twice as much to do now haven’t they? Since the other two buggered off.

Have they? They literally visited their old University that's hardly a national emergency

Well we are not going to see the Duke of York are we?

CathyorClaire · 26/05/2021 20:52

They've done sweet FA for the past fifteen months and they're not exactly sweating it now.

'Bout time they did some singing for their over-privileged supper.

Mrsjayy · 26/05/2021 20:52

They were also in orkney at a hospital /ambulance station and a primary school. Why do you dislike them so much ?

Nanalisa60 · 26/05/2021 20:54

“Since the other two buggared off “

Now that did make me laugh!!

GabsAlot · 26/05/2021 20:54

not really its harry that keeps popping up with his woe is me stories

HotChoc10 · 26/05/2021 20:55

@ShirleyPhallus

Yes, they seem to be on the news very often at the moment

I’m a bit bored of seeing Kate’s OTT, lovey smile at her husband just showing how in lurrrrrvvve they are, or that head thrown back, rictus grin of hilarity because something always seems hilarious. They’re beautiful photos but I fail to believe she’s so in lurve with her husband that she can’t help gazing up at him adoringly or finds stuff quite that hilarious

Yes! I refuse to believe she's that entertained.

I don't read the tabloids. Do see them on news websites though. Today they visited their old University. They've been in Scotland meeting and greeting the serfs. Not sure if it's meant to be a pick me up for the nation after the pandemic but seeing this overprivileged pair isn't working for me
I think it’s supposed to be pro-Union.

It was quite widely reported that given the passing of Prince Philip other members of the family were going to pick up duties so The Queen doesn’t need to attend events alone. So you will likely see more of them!

I imagine it is also very important now to show the U.K. is open for business and showcase its natural beauty to encourage tourism in the near future.

Lots of royals are busy at the minute - Countess of Wessex was at a children’s wheelchair basketball event in London recently and Prince Charles and Duchess of Cornwall were in NI last week for example.

Port1aCastis · 26/05/2021 20:56

Because the media are playing good guys bad guys and it's working, however there are less bitching threads about them than there are about H&M

greenandpinkbudgie · 26/05/2021 20:57

Why do you dislike them so much ?
I don't dislike them personally because I don't know them. What I find annoying really is the fake aren't we perfect type thing, like today's overly smiling I'm so loved up photos and also the lack of acknowledgement of their own immense privilege. I wouldn't rush to see them but I suppose if it brings other people happiness then fair enough, but like I said I feel like the PR campaign has gone into overdrive lately.

We’re coming out of lockdown so they’re back to the hand shaking, ribbon cutting, school visiting rigmarole. Plus Andrew’s a liability and Harry’s fucked off, so you’ll see more of these two. I can’t get worked up about it - I see these articles and think yep, still wouldn’t, and carry on with my day.

They have a week of engagements in Scotland - not just a visit to St. Andrews. If you're not aware of that I would suggest that they are certainly not over-exposed!
RickiTarr · 26/05/2021 20:58

I’m a crusty old republican, and I only find the royals interesting when they’re misbehaving. The constant meet and greet coverage is very samey, I agree, but where the hell did you get the idea that the royal family are supposed to be an emergency service?! 🚨 😆

greenandpinkbudgie · 26/05/2021 21:00

Because the media are playing good guys bad guys and it's working
Yes I think there's definitely an element of that. Feels like we're being played for fools. I'm sure they both have good and bad points and in truth both of them suffered from the tragic death of their mum as children. I'd prefer it if they followed the Queen and didn't try too hard

I bet you’d be the first to fulminate if they didn’t work. I feel so sorry for them, they just can’t get it right for some people.
Xiaoxiong · 26/05/2021 21:00

Jesus even on here they can't win. If they do their jobs visibly they're overexposed, if they don't have media coverage people think they're sitting around doing FA. Bet they wish their jobs had clear performance KPIs!

I'm just glad someone's doing that job well, I'd hate it and so would most people I think!

well at least they are an overprivileged non moaning working pair , if they did nothing at all im sure you would be complaining still
VodselForDinner · 26/05/2021 21:01

Twice today I’ve had to shoo these two out of my garden.
Got back from Tesco yesterday and they were sitting on my front wall.

They’re everywhere.
Everywhere.

greenandpinkbudgie · 26/05/2021 21:01

I was aware of their trip to Scotland, which I read was to save the union, which I thought was pretty patronising to Scottish people really and unlikely to succeed

OP posts:
RickiTarr · 26/05/2021 21:02

OP are you basically trying to say you’re a republican? That’s a perfectly sensible position.

You seem to be dancing around finding trivial fault.

What living in a palace with servants? when we have the highest rates of child poverty in recent times. Why don't they stop doing it then, the whole thing is odd anyway like a goldfish bowl.
