To ask if this hair colour is blonde or brunette?

My hair colour is dark blonde or light brown ("mousey brown"). I don't particularly like it but I think it's what suits me best.

I have always referred to it as being brown/brunette. However, my colleagues were discussing hair colour and all agreed that they would refer to me as being blonde. I know it's an ambiguous colour but I'm curious, would you say this hair colour is blonde or brunette?

Crikey @Roomin the "light brown" on that chart looks dark to me!

Not sure why there is only the option of blonde or brown. The hair in the pic is "caramel".

When you say 'brunette' I picture Penelope Cruz. Yours is dark blonde or light brown. Not brunette.

I don’t understand why she started a thread on what people think the colour of her hair is.

But what I really don’t understand is how anyone can think that hair in the picture is blonde.

It is not blonde.

Same as mine, light brown or mousy. However, technically, it is very dark blonde as per hair colour charts

I was looking at some hair extensions and this colour was in the blonde section.
Its my natural hair colour, I can now officially call myself a blonde 😅

It's called 'harvest blonde' and in the colour chart is suggested it's a similar colour to shreddies.

I always think of brunette as being a deep brown, so i wouldn’t say that. But this is definitely not blonde either, nothing to do with how dark or light it is, it Is a different colour. Your hair is brown with a few blonde highlights.

I never said it was my hair lol. The photographs are ones that circulate all the time on Pinterest so I thought it was obvious it wasn't my actual hair and went without saying...

It seems most interpret it as brown which is how I interpret it too. I was just curious that all of my colleagues referred to it as blonde. I think it also depends on the lighting as it definitely looks blonder in bright/sunny light.

Sorry to those who thought these pictures were my own. I never referred to them as not being mine, I thought it was obvious they were from Pinterest/Google Images from the links. There was also supposed to be a third photograph but I pasted the same link twice which would have shown a picture of a celebrity which would have made it more obvious that they were not me/my photos.

My hair is like that - at least if I didn't dye it.

I've always thought of myself as a dark ash blonde - blonde with an almost woody undertone. Not the reddish of chestnut or strawberry blonde, or the silver or yellow of true blonde.

I hated it growing up, and I still choose to be a redhead, but I appreciate it a lot more now.

On a hairdressers Facebook page earlier I saw an almost identical photo and they called it honey blonde.

I'm clueless though being very dark brown (albeit going grey) myself

If this is your hair colour, then it's a gorgeous colour. But it doesn't look like a natural colour (to me anyway...)

Looks like medium brown with blonde highlights. Looks like a balayage actually .

P.S. Your OP did kind of imply it was your hair. By not saying it was a stock photo from pintrest, your OP implied it was you on the pic. (Not being funny, just saying..... )

That's mid-brown, not even mousy...

When you image search the photo (in the OP) it comes up as balayage! Like I said, it does look like that, and it doesn't look natural.

Highlighted brown hair. Mine was exactly the same op (natural rodent). Most would say I'm blonde now because it has got lighter as more grey has come in.
