To be in pyjamas on a Sunday afternoon?

Went out this morning for a walk with the kids and got absolutely soaked. When we got in I had a shower and put on clean pyjamas and planned to spend the rest of the day lounging and eating and watching films.
The door went and it was a neighbour picking up a parcel that was left. Never really spoken to her much since she moved in. When I answered she immediately said oh my goodness have I got you out of bed. I said no and handed the parcel. She took a deliberate look at her watch and then asked if I was ill.
Surely it’s not so odd to be in pyjamas on a miserable wet Sunday?!

poor kids.
😂😂😂

oh yes, my kids need to be pitied indeed 😂

I was talking about mine actually. Not being forced to get dressed when they just want to stop in their pjs for a day.

It's funny isn't it, leaving mine in their pjs during the day is a threat in this house! Very efficient one too. 🤷

Finding grand-parents, or relatives, in pjs during the day would also be translated as them being VERY unwell.

Wouldn't do for us all to be the same and be judged for acting differently to others.

I often put pj bottoms on once I'm home the day. I just like being comfy.

OrangeRug · 10/05/2021 12:46

I only ever wear pjs in the house. If I'm staying in I'll shower and put on clean ones if necessary but the pjs stay on! And if I go out, the second I walk through the door the bra comes off and the pjs go on! I don't get people who can lounge around in jeans!

Prior to the pandemic I worked long hours in a job where I wore smart clothes, wore a full face every day and washed dried and straightened my hair every morning.
The last year I've only worked sporadically and living on redundancy and savings and I love having days where I where pyjamas, watch tv, listen to music and do nothing much else

I've done many years living a certain way and just for now if I want to doss round the house all day doing very little, then jog on anyone feeling they can judge

Sounds like my MIL, who is lovely, but has a thing about pyjamas before about 9pm.

My typical Sunday could look like:
5am: Wake up, go for a 5km run
6am: Get ready for work
7am - 3pm: Work
3 - 3.30pm: Drive home
3.30 - 4.30pm: housework
4.30pm: Shower, put pyjamas on, chill out.
5pm: Facetime from MIL: "have you been in your pyjamas all day?! shock"

atracurious · 10/05/2021 13:57

I would find that very rude OP. I wear pyjamas frequently at home, it doesn't mean I'm lazy. She can judge all she likes. It sounds like you had a lovely cosy afternoon

LadyWhistledownsPen · 10/05/2021 13:58

I can only wear PJ's all day if I'm ill or in hospital bit my sister and mum love PJ days. Each to their own
