AIBU to think Eminem is the greatest rapper of all time?

Just going through those early great albums, The Slim Shady, The Marshall Mathers LP, the Eminem show...and thinking what a genius. I’ve also had some glasses of wine so am rambling. But those brilliant lyrics. Sigh....anyone agree?

Anyway. I like Eminem but don't know enough about rap music to judge!

Nope. Some of those tracks are incredible to listen to and the combination of sheer unpleasantness and voice acting is gripping, but I just don't want to hear the homophobia any more and there's a lot better out there.

Those saying it’s just because he’s white... many amazing black rappers hail Eminem as genius. I don’t this he’s the GOAT by any stretch, but let’s not discount him for this reason.

Einstein vs Stephen Hawking, but it isn't the best one. Look up Gordon Ramsay vs Julia Child, and Bonnie & Clyde vs Romeo & Juliet.

I would say there's much better rappers. Kanye West, Biggie Smalls, Kendrick Lamar and Kid Cudi. Does Eminem still use the N word? I find him irritating tbh.

Umm he doesn’t. It may appear that way if you haven’t properly listened though.

Same with the rihanna song about DA. It isn’t to glorify, it highlights the reality.

I love Eminem. I think his rap is very clever- as pointed out on the surface it appears to mean one thing, when on closer listen it doesn’t at all. The music and the samples are great too.

It caught my attention in the way other rap hasn’t. I like odd songs from other artists, but Eminem is the only one I can listen to entire albums over again.

Slightly off topic but my mind was blown when I learned Eminem and Mariah Carey had history and there have been many musical 'disses' on both sides. I just CANNOT imagine them as a couple. Check out the video of Mariah's song Obsession if you don't already know it. There's a character in it who's the spit of Eminem and the lyrics are 😂😱. Made him v v angry apparently and he's still going on about it. One diss of his to look up is Bagpipes of Baghdad. He is a genius, I agree.

I've been enjoying an Eminem feast the past few weeks reminding myself of his amazing talent.
Not afraid, toy soldiers, always gets to me.
His early stuff was very catchy and hilarious.
