To ask you to avert a war and name our new kitten...

Today our new overlord kitten came to live with us.

There is outright war between the DSs over her name.

DS1 wants Twix Or Elektra
DS2 wants Karamel or KitKat

The only thing they could agree on was that she either needs to be named after a biscuit/chocolate or have a K where there should be a C (this is due to the name of our old chap who we lost)

Having exhausted my peace keeping abilities I turn to the wisdom of mumsnet (with the half-hearted approval of the DSs) to declare her name.

The secret hidden option is to get another kitten and let them name one each

Oh god she's so cute. She reminds me of my last cat - not useful for you but he was a massive ginger Tom with a bit of Maine coon in him and we called him Brian.

Well, soon enough you’ll blend the two kids chosen names and be calling the kitten TwatKat. So maybe start with that

Lyle or Lyla would be for the Golden Syrup? Cats respond best to two or three syllable names with the first long, or iambs or dactyls.

I like your thinking - it's very easily rearranged for when she reaches 9 months old until she's about 17.

Although I'm thinking she looks like a Wotzit.

And then you'd need to get a long, shorthaired cat named Pringle.
