To eat a whole pizza?!

Was talking to my Mum about pizza. When we buy a frozen one from the shop, we will sit down say on a Friday night and eat a whole one each no problem. My Mum thinks that's piggish as she has about three slices 🥴

I can eat a whole Pizza Express one no problem at all !!!

soughsigh · 07/05/2021 11:09

Yes, it is piggish to eat a whole pizza but I thought that was the point of it? Friday night treat tea.

We make 2 cut into 6 slices, I tend to get 5 slices and DH has 7 (he has an extra foot on me plus a physical job so can easily afford the extra calories). Sometimes we have curly fries or beans too, although we would save a few slices to eat the next day.

It is Friday and now I want pizza.

@ZaraW

Who cares?
You cared enough to post eh?
WorkplaceLlama · 07/05/2021 11:14

Hahaha. I could eat a whole large takeaway pizza. A whole frozen pizza is for amateurs.

Buby51 · 07/05/2021 11:30

Me and dp eat a whole pizza supermarket size pizza each too 🤨

GameSetMatch · 07/05/2021 11:49

My mum so would only eat half too, I think as you get older you don’t eat as much. I’d definitely be able to eat a whole pizza and so would my husband.

PerspicaciousGreen · 07/05/2021 12:51

My parents used to buy one pizza and one bagged salad between two adults and two children. We went to Pizza Express once a year and they would really splash out and get one for them to share and one for me and my brother to share (and TWO side salads!) They don't buy pizza any more because it's just the two of them and one pizza is too much and they don't like leftovers.

I hate ordering pizza as a group because I can never figure out the unspoken social consensus on how much to order for how many people so I never want to venture an opinion.

But now that I'm a grown up, I definitely get one whole pizza all to myself!

PerspicaciousGreen · 07/05/2021 12:54

@Overthebow

Also surely the number of slices someone can eat depends on the slice size. Personally I only eat one slice for dinner, if the slice is the whole pizza!
Very true, and the size of the pizza! 8" vs 18"!

And, genuinely, the pizza base. I much prefer the texture of thin crust pizza and I can obviously fit more slices of that in than the thick bready Dominoes crust.

HopingForOurRainbowBaby · 07/05/2021 13:04

The only times I don't eat a full pizza is 1 I'm short on food and it's before payday so I'll try and stretch it over 2 days but add in some chips. 2 if I've gone to Pizza Hut because I've stuffed myself on a massive salad bowl too. The salad bowl which probably has about 2000 calories in it with all the coleslaw, potato salad and various sauces inside it too and 3 I'm at someone's house and we share a pizza although we do add garlic bread and chips in too. Other than that I can happily troff a full pizza to myself

DifferentHair · 07/05/2021 13:04

I don't know if it's 'unreasonable' to eat a whole pizza, but if you look at the side of the box you'll probably see that you ate a days worth of calories in one meal.

Which is fine if you're fine with it, it's no ones business

Crowsaregreat · 07/05/2021 13:31

Frozen pizzas seem a lot smaller than they used to be. We have two for two adults and two under 5s, plus salad and maybe a few chips.

eepeep · 07/05/2021 14:44

I definitely can eat a whole pizza but it's far beyond what I can afford to eat, calorie wise. I'm already overweight and have to fight tooth and nail just to stay at the same weight, let alone lose. Eating a whole pizza is just not part of my life any more Sad

By the way, the best frozen pizza is Dr Oetkers spinach pizza.

KatherineJaneway · 09/05/2021 15:57

Depends on the size.

CuriousSeal · 09/05/2021 18:47

I could, but generally eat half with three falafel balls as a meal!

Strugglingtodomybest · 09/05/2021 18:59

We have one each, but I know that my mum wouldn't be able to eat a whole one as she eats very small portions these days in order to keep slim.
