To eat a whole pizza?!

viixie · 06/05/2021 20:30

Was talking to my Mum about pizza. When we buy a frozen one from the shop, we will sit down say on a Friday night and eat a whole one each no problem. My Mum thinks that's piggish as she has about three slices 🥴

I can easily eat 1 and a half supermarket pizzas in one go, or one medium Domino's. In fact I'm going to an Italian for dinner tomorrow, think I'll order myself a nice big pizza Grin

Isittimenow · 06/05/2021 23:43

Can proudly say that I can eat a full large dominos pizza on my own

Nightfeedwatcher · 06/05/2021 23:44

Right! I’m going out to get pizzas tomorrow thanks to this thread!
1 each of course Grin

drigon · 06/05/2021 23:47

I probably will eat 2/3 or so of a Tesco cheese and tomato. I always add chargrilled chicken, black olives and sometimes chorizo though and splosh it with olive oil and Tabasco.

PurpleDaisies · 06/05/2021 23:49

I’d normally have half a frozen pizza but with something on the side... garlic bread and salad most often.

@Overthebow

Also surely the number of slices someone can eat depends on the slice size. Personally I only eat one slice for dinner, if the slice is the whole pizza!
Quite,.

Just like the Magic Chicken.

OP: "My chicken will feed my family of 8 teenage sporty slim kids, a DH who hasa VERY LABOUR INTENSIVE JOB, and little old me for 6 meals! and I have to chuck the legs away coz no-one eats them LOLOLOL !!!"
Everyone else: Howwwww? It lasts us 2 maybe..."
OP: "Because it was a 150kg chicken"
EE: "Ohhh, yeah we buy a 1kg chicken"

DH and his mate once ate an entire costco pizza each in one sitting.

These are thick based and 18" ... :S

justanotherneighinparadise · 07/05/2021 09:56

It’s not whether you could eat a whole pizza, it’s whether you should eat a whole pizza. Completely different mindsets.

FuckyouCovid21 · 07/05/2021 10:01

I used to be massively overweight (18.5 stone) and I'd polish off a large pizza no problem. I'm now 9 stone and I can polish off a large pizza no problem.

Just because someone is fat or thin has no relation to how much pizza they can pack away

drpet49 · 07/05/2021 10:06

I could easily eat 2

Emmelina · 07/05/2021 10:16

Could I? Yes!
Should I? Probably not every day, but a weekly quick tea absolutely.

shumway · 07/05/2021 10:21

I eat a whole pizza all the time. Easily.

Thatisnotwhatisaid · 07/05/2021 10:24

We always eat one each, we’d all be hungry if we only had a couple of slices especially if there was no chips and side salad to accompany it. We’re not fat.

WinterRose92 · 07/05/2021 10:27

One each here! Unless we have something else with it, chips or wedges or something. 3 slices is nothing!
(I could eat 2 if I’m really hungry 🤤)

CounsellorTroi · 07/05/2021 10:29

We always share supermarket pizzas and have a big salad with them. On the rare occasions we have Dominos I have a personal size. I’m still overweight though Sad.

idontlikealdi · 07/05/2021 10:31

My kids love the frozen peppperoni ones of 4 cheese from Sainsburys. they're 99p. It's basically a slightly larger piece of cheese on toast, my cheese on toast would have more cheese on it and be more filling.

I could eat two of them easily.

Take away like Papa Johns we get two large and two sides between four of us. Sometimes there are a couple of pieces left, often not.

I agree! I'm a size 8 and eat huge portions, we eat healthy through the week and have treats like (a whole) pizza (and chips) at the weekend. My kids aren't overweight either.
RampantIvy · 07/05/2021 10:46

A 10" thin crust, yes. Anything bigger I would either share with DH or eat the rest for lunch the next day.

I don't understand people who want chips or wedges with pizza. I would rather eat more pizza Grin

skirk64 · 07/05/2021 10:48

A pizza should be eaten whole, it's a single person serving. Sharing a pizza is like sharing a burger, yes you can but it's a bit weird.

ladygindiva · 07/05/2021 10:48

Dp and I only have half a pizza each but that's only so that we can leave room for half a Cheesecake each for afters.

DK123 · 07/05/2021 10:49

I feel hungry after a whole supermarket pizza. But the other day I decided to take a top tip from MN and had one with an absolutely massive salad. I could only eat one piece of pizza and I was full for well over a week.

With Domino's, as a teenager, I ate a whole large one with no problem. Nowadays I get a medium. With a couple less slices, it would probably be enough, but I love it and (sacrilege) I don't like next day pizza, so I still eat the whole thing. Must be people like me who are responsible for the obesity problem 🙄

SharonasCorona · 07/05/2021 10:50

DH sometimes eats two! I eat one.

Off topic, I remember going to Frankie and Bennie as teens in the 90s and their largest pizza would feed four teens easily. Went back last year and it a bit meh and much smaller.

MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat · 07/05/2021 10:52

OP you need to slice the whole pizza into thirds, then you’ve only had 3 slices Grin

I usually have half a pizza as I prefer to eat it with sides like salad, coleslaw or potato wedges but if I was having it by itself I’d probably have a whole one.

Oilpyii · 07/05/2021 10:55

She slices it into 3 😉

To be fair I used to easily eat a while one and extras, but as I get older I’ve had to adjust my eating. To maintain a healthy weight (not slim, just healthy) I’ve had to adjust my portions. Over time my stomach has struck. Maybe she has that too.

Who cares?
